Nutritionists says water only diet is most dangerous ever

Eating disorder expert Joanne Labiner likened Water Fasting to conditions like anorexia and said it should be avoided, especially at a time of year when people are considering slimming down after Christmas.

She said: ‘It can be so bad for your organs. That’s why people with anorexia can die of a heart attack. Their body feeds on their heart.

‘Our body thinks it’s an emergency and tries to prevent that fat storage from being used up, and it feeds on the muscle’.

On social media site Twitter dieters claimed that the Water Fast left their skin looking ‘amazing’.

...

NHS guidelines say that if you want to lose weight you should lose no more than 2lbs a week if you want it to be sustainable.

Kidney specialist Dr Jason Fung, said that short term fasting worked but only for certain patients. He suggested that water fasts were appropriate for clients who are obese or have Type 2 diabetes – but only under the supervision of a doctor.

He said: ‘It can be done, people do them, but they have to be done safely.

‘I don’t think it’s the safest thing to do, but if you’re obese, it’s not the most dangerous thing, either. If you’re relatively slender, it’s more dangerous’. Dr Fung, who wrote a book called ‘The Complete Guide to Fasting’, added: ‘The longer you (fast) the more risks you take’.

The joys of hyponatremia would be one outcome.

Being dead ain’t much of diet.

It works for Nancy Pelosi.

Endurance athletes who’ve mismanaged their nutrition provide fairly well-documented insight into the catastrophic acute and long term effects.

Could probably write a book called “The Jesus Diet”, telling people to go sit in the desert for 40 days and nights with only water. I bet I’d sell a million copies. Would need a hell of a lawyer to write the fine print disclaimer though.

Yeah but, pretty sure Pelosi’s necrotized animatron is feeding on something other than water to keep itself wobbling along.

Small dogs and cats maybe... when other people’s children aren’t on the menu.

Anything to extremes is bad. But given the record of ‘nutritionists’, I would take them as seriously as I take today’s school teachers - which is not at all.

Anyone healthy can fast (water only) for a week easy, some sites say up to 20 days, but I’ve never tried that many (my highest is 10 days). If humans dropped dead after skipping a few meals, we would have never made it out of caves - obviously our bodies know how to operate just off fat, and just fine that way.

Overall, the ‘nutritionists’ are just doubling down on their abject failures, no different than school teachers that keep pushing “whole language” (now repackaged as ‘site words’), or Common Core Math (I think most of us have now seen that disaster). Pretty much human nature to never admit you’re wrong in something you do for a living. Annoying, but human nature - run into it here once in a while too.

There are no documented cases of people dying from water fasting.

Water fasting combined with binge-purging is just binge-purging.

There is lots of documented, clinical evidence of alternate-day fasting improving health.

BBC Documentary: Eat, Fast and Live Longer

A three-day water fast stimulates the production of more stem cells than you get in a $10,000 stem cell therapy session, plus according to clinical study it buffers the side-effects of chemotherapy.

Fasting triggers stem cell regeneration of damaged, old immune system

The human body evolved to go through periods of feast and famine.

“Eating disorder expert” Joanne Labiner is an idiot.

The human body will ALWAYS consume fat first. It does not metabolize the body’e muscle until all the fat is gone.

>>”The Jesus Diet”

That wasn’t only water - it included locusts and wild honey.

BS.

Folks who try to run a marathon on water only end up in the med tent.

If they’re lucky.

So running the marathon had nothing to do with it?

I bet they wouldn't be dead had they not run the marathon, therefore MARATHONS KILL, according to your "logic."

Agree - I didn’t even want to start on the health BENEFITS of water fasting, because that’s probably too much to handle at once for the ‘nutritionists’ who might be here.

But yes, early humans didn’t take down mastodons 3 times a day, at the same hours, as part of a healthy cave-man existence. They ate whenever the hell they could, and that was often many days between meals...and they lived long enough to keep having kids.

“The human body will ALWAYS consume fat first. It does not metabolize the body’e muscle until all the fat is gone.”

These people are TOO FUNNY. The people liberated from the death camps at the end of WW2 would have been long dead, if their bodies were chewing up fat instead of muscle. Yes, many more died, but only because they ran out of fat - something most Americans don’t have to worry about for at least 4 to 12 months.

He’s referring to something different and yes, dangerous, which is to throw your electrolytes out of balance by drinking huge amounts of water alone. I agree with you - means nothing in the context of fasting.

It’s the “drinking only water” part that causes the problem, super genius.

So you’re saying they would have died without running the marathon because they were water fasting?

I was informed that they were binging on large quantities of water. That’s not a water fast. That’s something else. You can induce a heart attack by taking in too much air by hyperventilating too, but that doesn’t mean breathing air kills you.
