>>Starvation happens when you run out of usable fat...then your body will start eating muscle.

Wrong.

Fat is metabolized by the TCA/Citric Acid Cycle.

Oxaloacetate is required in that chemistry.

Where does oxaloacetate come from when a carbohydrate source isn’t available?

“Would need a hell of a lawyer to write the fine print disclaimer though.”

not really: “Don’t do this. You will die. You’ve been warned, so don’t blame me. For amusement purposes only. Do not try this at home.”

“something most Americans don’t have to worry about for at least 4 to 12 months.”

tell me about it ... though i’m been striving to at least approach the almost worrying point ...

>>Evidently this guy produced all the oxaloacetate he needed.

From WHAT?

{ hint: not from the clueless ethervapor emanating from your wherever }

Once again, are you saying his body didn’t produce it?

Evidently there are things you didn’t memorize getting that “nutrition” degree.

And since you brought up “anecdotal evidence,” the article this thread is based upon is nothing but anecdotal evidence.

Once again - No, super genius.

Once again, what did his body produce the oxaloacetate FROM?

Why would I care? I’ve been fasting for years, and the only time my health deteriorates is when I slack off.

You’re the only one who cares, and you have an expensive degree in it, so you should know.

But evidently you only know what you’ve memorized.

Dunno. Why do you, big mouth?

>>you have an expensive degree in it,

Nope.

Got any other straw to pull out of your wherever?

I remember hearing about a woman who died after winning a radio contest for binge drinking water.

I know the U.S. Military doesn’t just put a bag full of water and a stick of butter in an MRE.

Why is that?

Thanks, I didn’t think you need carbs to derive oxaloacetate

I have no idea WTF you are talking about.

Drinking excessive quantities of water is not water fasting. Period.

But you seem to want to say it is so you can lecture us on metabolic pathways.

Where does oxaloacetate come from if you don’t have carbs?

Sorry, but I’m still alive, along with 2 others here. Try that ADM propaganda somewhere else.

>>I have no idea WTF you are talking about.

“There are no documented cases of people dying from water fasting. “

You’re full of something - and it’s not oxaloacetate.

Oxaloacetate is required to metabolize fat.

One source in a water-faster is carbohydrates - like liver glycogen.

What’s the other source?

Add protein to the mix and you would be a lot better off than eating high carb MREs.

Ever hear of pemmican?
