Veteran Atlanta news anchor Amanda Davis has died, according to CBS 46. She was 62.
Davis suffered a massive stroke Tuesday night while waiting to board a flight at the Atlanta airport, the station reported.
“Her family is asking for privacy at this difficult time,” CBS 46 posted online. “Amanda’s friends and colleagues at CBS 46 are praying for her family.”

The death of her father according to another article.
It’s very stressful, losing a close family member. I know I had a very hard time driving a car when I learned my dad had passed away. Never experienced that before, detached, lightheaded, it didn’t quite seem real. Shock I guess.
62 is young for what must have been a massive stroke. The only positive about this situation is that she will not be slowly wasting away over a number of years like my mom’s second husband.
Life is short.
This spring brought word of a high school classmate having a massive stroke at that age. He survived with significant motor losses and continues in physical therapy. It required doctors to remove part of the skull to allow the brain to swell without killing him. They put that skull portion back in place this summer after holding it in his abdomen in the interim.
RIP Amanda Davis. She appeared to have put her career back in order and was back on top.

I agree. Never having heard of her before no need to hear that at her passing.
I don’t agree. I have never heard of this woman, but when I saw that she died of a massive stroke at 62, I wondered what could have been the cause. When I saw that she had 3 DUIs, the probable cause, direct or indirect, became immediately apparent. Although I think DUI laws have gotten ridiculous, you have to have a real problem with drinking to get your third.
Why was it rude? It’s truth and that is not always pretty.
She did it to herself and alcohol consumption could have affected her health.
Very bad manners to drag out the dirty laundry of the deceased because we all have dirty laundry, a lowest number, whatever you want to call it.

It was not rude. And, alcohol most definitely hurts one’s health. If the woman in the picture had high blood pressure, and she was prone to excessive alcohol consumption (which, apparently she was), she was ripe for a stroke.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Cobb County police confirm they have arrested former FOX 5 anchor Amanda Davis on a charge of driving on a suspended license.
Police said they pulled Davis over near Cumberland Mall Tuesday afternoon for an expired tag. That’s when police said the officer discovered she had a suspended license.
Police said the suspension deals with Davis’ previous DUI arrests.
She was still drinking, driving and driving on a suspended license as recently as one year ago. Selfishly placing others in grave danger.
Drinking likely does contribute to early death, often not mentioned.
The righteous on FR have lots of rocks and are eager to use them!
