Obama is free to talk to whomever wants to. He has the world's approval for something big, and we aren't going to be able to stop him. I wish they'd fade into history though. Other former presidents live out their lives on American soil; Obama seems to have his sights set somewhere big or influential on the world stage.

It's ironic how Queen Elizabeth's uncle had to abdicate the throne to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. The Church of England censured him for marrying a divorcee. The throne passed to Elizabeth's father, George VI. After his death, Elizabeth was corona ted.

During her rule, she refused her sister, Margaret, to marry her first love, Capt. Peter Townsend who was divorced, I believe, was the reason. Then she ended up divorced anyway after her marriage failed with Earl? Something Snowden; she never seemed very happy and drank too much.

Now the Queen has allowed her daughter, Anne, to remarry after a divorce; her son Charles who may become king despite marrying divorcee Camilla Parker Bowles. It's unknown; obviously Prince William is the presumptive heir.

Now the Queen has been downright gracious accepting another American divorcee for Prince Harry who is obviously smitten with her. It's better than freezing her out.

I give the Queen credit for recognizing her mistakes and trying to keep peace in the family. At a cost as I think she, as head of the Church of England, has tried to be faithful. A difficult hand to play, and I wouldn't want to have to make those decisions.

As long as Obama doesn't land his helicopters in the Queen's garden, I don't think she cares.:-(

I guess I've been a bit of a royal follower since I was a child and read a book about them, also watched the Queen's wedding on tv in the early days, don't remember much about it though.

Well, Wallis Simpson was fairly trashy for her time and of course the Queen had nothing to do with that. I think she sympathized with her sister but her advisors forbade the marriage. Of course Margaret could have given up her title, but she wouldn’t. She had a miserable life as it turned out.
