Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ tour shaping up to be a disaster [Tix $$$$]
NY POST ^ | 01/01/2018 | By Richard Morgan

What is Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” worth? Not the jacked-up prices she’s charging for concert tickets.

That’s the verdict from ticked-off fans, who are balking at buying seats for the 28-year-old pop star’s tour to promote her new “Reputation” album, citing stratospheric markups and greedy sales gimmicks.

“I paid $150 for my ticket with amazing seats for the 1989 tour. Now for the same seats I have to pay about $500,” Twitter user “swiftieloves” recently griped.

A look at Ticketmaster’s interactive seat charts confirms that Swift’s schedule of 33 dates for the North American “Reputation” tour has yet to produce a single sellout, from its May 8 launch in Phoenix to its Oct. 6 finale in Arlington, Texas.

That’s despite seats being available to the general public since Swift’s birthday on Dec. 13. By comparison, all the dates on Swift’s “1989” tour in 2015 “sold out within minutes,” according to concertsandsports.com.

I've nothing against TS, but the prices for her concerts are totally out of line with her fan base.

Now, they see what she's really worth..............

Anyone that would pay $150 for a ticket deserves to be charged $500 in the future. No one is worth anything close to $100 of my money.

“I paid $150 for my ticket with amazing seats for the 1989 tour.“

Um, that was 19 years ago...

WE have hit our limit on concert tickets. Have checked out on a bunch since they jumped well over $100 a ticket. Just not worth it.

I paid $5 to see Chicago in the Key arena in Seattle in the 70’s. I stopped going to concerts when tickets reached $50. It’s just not that important.

And now you can get a blue ray disc of a concert with amazing camera angles and sound quality, and watch it over and over. And there are no parking hassles and all of the other negatives that come with going to a concert.

1989 was the name of her last album. It came out a few years ago.

There’s a market price for everything, including NFL game tickets and concerts by pop stars.

If she can’t sell out, based on supply and demand, the price of tickets is too high.

She would have sold out all shows if the tickets were $10. I don’t know how prices are arrived at for concerts by pop stars, but, clearly they misjudged in pricing for her, assuming the goal was to have sold out shows.

That’s $22.92 today.

Not $150, much less $500.

A few years ago I made the comment here on FR that I never understood what people saw in Taylor Swift. I didn’t say she was untalented. But I did imply that she wasn’t anything special. You would have thought I’d attacked the Lord Jesus based on the responses I got.

Well, I still don’t think she’s anything special.

The "28-year-old pop 'star'" might have been a year old in 1989....

If you are charging $500 a seat, you don’t need to sell out.
