I think there’s too much finger-pointing going on there. Air travel is already complicated with so many different players involved. In a place like NYC where the system is strained even under normal conditions, any problem becomes a major disruption.
I agree. Complex doesn’t begin to describe the logistical dance.
I’m a frequent traveler and haven’t had any real horror stories. Just inconveniences.
But, occasionally you hear stories of colossal failures like passengers held on tarmac for 4-5 hours. No food, water or toilet facilities.
The water main break was a stuff happens deal. If the system broke down as described for the rest, they should have had processes to follow. That’s all.
Possibly everything else was just barely manageable then the main broke. Couldn’t tell from the article.
