It's now known as Dolly Parton's Stampede, according to a news release from World Choice Investments. The attraction will start its 2018 season later in January with shows on Jan. 19, 20, 26 and 27, according to its website. It also has a location in Branson, Missouri.

REMOVING CONFUSION, CONCERN ABOUT SHOWS Parton explained in the press release that the change streamlines the name of the show, will remove any confusion or concern about it, and will help efforts to bring the show into new cities.

“Our shows currently are identified by where they are located,” Parton said in the news release. “Some examples are Smoky Mountain Adventures or Dixie Stampede. We also recognize that attitudes change and feel that by streamlining the names of our shows, it will remove any confusion or concerns about our shows and will help our efforts to expand into new cities.”

At least it won’t give off ANY reference to the repellant “Dixie Chicks”.

When the politically correct want you to stop doing something that you do: do it more.

When the politically correct want you to take something down: put two more up.

Whatever is politically correct: oppose it.

... and oppose them who are politically correct.

The Left didn't used to have a problem with "Dixie." In fact, in the early to mid-1960's "Radio Free Dixie" was beamed to the American South from Cuba and aimed to arouse "oppressed" blacks to rise up and fight for their "freedom." You can listen to an air check from Radio Free Dixie here. The broadcast is probably from the late summer or fall of 1965.

Ms. Parton is gifted with great singing talent.

That said, she apparently has no issue with palling around with American traitor, jane fonda.

Unacceptable. PC anything aside, it's nothing compared with giving American traitor, jane fonda, the time of day.

Sad and disgusting, but not surprised,

Dolly uses her Southern heritage for monetary gain.....
.....but, IMO, her integrity is skin deep.

Yes, she helps her county, etc....
....but she feels way too comfortable with the Hollywood swamp, Jane Fonda, et al

Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said he was disappointed that the show yielded to political correctness.

“Well, like everybody else, I love Dolly, and I love all that she’s done for our community, which is her community, and I’m disappointed that they’re yielding to political correctness,” Burchett said. “What’s next? Are we going to change the name of Dixie cups and the Dixie sugar company? You know, I just hope they don’t change their Christmas program.”

I have been to the Pigeon Forge area a few times. The people who visit the area are not the types who would be offended by the word Dixie. The area attracts many visitors from Dixie, pun intended, and the Midwest. The people from the Midwest are Trump voters.
