Highest ratings for the year, yes. But also down from previous years, when the trend was up for a long time. The NFL is in trouble, whether or not they want to admit it. But the League is also far from dead, whether or not those who despise traitors want to admit it.

I liken it to American Idol.

Once it started sagging, AI had ratings that other shows would kill for. But year over year, point drop by point drop, eventually it died.

Likewise the nfl is slowly dying — not only from dropping viewership but from the blowback it is getting from skull injuries.

How long before schools get sued into the stone-age for allowing kids to play a game they KNOW is dangerous. Even if they have signed waivers from the parents, those parents can say the dangers were minimized (think tobacco suits).

Pressure on both sides will kill the nfl in most Boomer’s lifetimes.
