Like Confederate monuments, Poland should let them stand to remind Poles of what the Soviets did to them so it doesn’t happen again.

You should then say your articles: A, An and The.
Russians tend to leave them out. So, you should have said “...as if Russia was campaigning in THE Southwest...”.
I am from Alabama, but also from THE South, and viewed by a Russian, from THE West.
It can be tricky to catch the nuance.
By the way, I’m told the Russians got their name, “Rus” from the Norse, via the word “Ruotsi”, meaning “Oarsmen”. But I bet you know that!
They did a great job liberating Poland from the Polish in 1939.
These commie statues are in prominent places of honor. Soviets put them there to remind Poles that they’re now enslaved. Statues to show foreign dominance. Poles hate these statues and there is no danger of them forgetting that Soviet Union invaded and massacred them. It is Russian as*holes, who want these prominent statues of humiliation stay. Poles hate these. If Poles want to see commie statues they can always go to Seattle and see that f*cking Lenin there.
Hi.
I appreciate your viewpoint.
