President Trump Slams Democrats for Blocking Senate Bill Banning Late-Term Abortions After 20 Weeks

President Donald Trump today is slamming Senate Democrats for blocking a pro-life Senate bill to ban late-term abortions — a bill that would save as many as 18,000 unborn babies form abortions each and every year.

The Senate voted Monday on whether to stop the Democrats’ filibuster of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation that would ban abortions after 20 weeks — as neither Congress nor state legislatures can vote to ban all abortions under Roe v. Wade. The bill highlights how unborn babies feel intense pain when they are killed in abortions.

Fifty-one senators (forty-eight Republicans and three Democrats) voted to take the bill up for debate, but 60 votes were required. (See vote tally at end of article). All but three Democrats voted to support legalized and unlimited abortions until birth.

Today, President Trump criticized those recalcitrant senators who stood in the way of stopping late-term abortions.

“Recently, when I addressed the 45th annual March for Life, I called on the Senate to pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, important legislation that would protect our most vulnerable. It is disappointing that despite support from a bipartisan majority of U.S. Senators, this bill was blocked from further consideration,” he said.

Trump highlighted the scientific evidence showing unborn babies feel pain in late abortions.

“Scientific studies have demonstrated that babies in the womb feel pain at twenty weeks. The vote by the Senate rejects scientific fact and puts the United States out of the mainstream in the family of nations, in which only 7 out of 198 nations, including China and North Korea, allow elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy,” he said.

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must Ban Late-Term Abortions

Trump concluded, “We must defend those who cannot defend themselves. I urge the Senate to reconsider its decision and pass legislation that will celebrate, cherish, and protect life.”

Vice President Mike Pence also criticized the pro-abortion Senators who kept late-term abortions in place.

“I am disappointed that tonight, 46 Senators voted against a motion that would have respected the majority of Americans’ convictions – including those of President Trump – by refusing to advance a bill that would restrict abortions on babies when they are capable of feeling pain. Just earlier this month I watched as our president, a true pro-life advocate, energized the growing movement at the March for Life. The pro-life message is winning and President Trump and I will never cease in our commitment to defending and protecting the most vulnerable among us. We will continue standing up for the sanctity of life,” he said.

The Democrat party was the Party of Slavery at its founding two centuries ago, and remains the Party of Slavery today.

It is also the Party of Death.

They aborted over 40 million of their voters. That’s why they want illegals!
