I am absolutely floored by the depiction of what happened that is being given in this miniseries. As a kid in high school, I remember this happening. I even live in Texas. I remember watching the news conferences and even watched it burn live on t.v. I am not naive enough to believe the official ATF accounts, but holy cow. The portrayal of the raid is absolutely BRUTAL in showing how the ATF attacked without provocation. I literally cannot believe that the Hollywierd types allowed this to be produced in this way, since they love to lump all religious people (except moslems, of course) as a bunch of gun crazy fanatics.
I don’t know if it is the same program but a few weeks ago there was one about Waco on one of the odd channels I get.
I just assumed it would be a whitewash but now wish I had watched it.

I gave up that fantasy when Lon Horiuchi shot Vicki Weaver while she was holding her baby.
If that bastard had not blown up the federal building in retaliation, Clinton would have been a one term president.
I thought that first Waco documentary, I think it won an academy award for best documentary, was just devestating. Even without the controversial FLIR thermal film footage segment it is a stunning indictment.
I’m watching episode 3 right now.
We still don’t know the full story on that one either.

We had some really good local talk shows to that totally got beaten back by the Left after that too. It was just as effective as Louis Lerner destroying the Tea Party with the IRS.

WACO on Paramount is a drama with Hollywood actors. Like it so far.
WACO: Mad Man or Messiah on A&E a documentary with some interesting film clips including early Koresh. like this one too.
Watched the first part and found it interesting. Koresh, at the beginning seemed pretty benign but as some point, he went full mental.

Here is a good article where they interviewed the directors and producers of the show, 2 brothers. One doesn’t need to read the whole article, I think the underlying message they say is Koresh may have done some indefensible things but most of the people at that Branch Davidian complex were good people, innocent people. Good series, I’ve watched all 3 episodes so far.
I was a consultant on emergency preparedness. the FBI and ATF blew the WACO thing all to hell. They murdered those people. I heard on of the negotiators speak and the agency didn’t want to negotiate. That wanted to teach them lesson. This is contrary to all modern police and corrections thinking.
Koresh may have been a which at WACO but he could have been arrested at many times without resorting to murder.
The hidden story behind Waco was reported by a USAF JAG Officer in his Air War College paper. As a contractor working for AFSOC I was tasked to review and comment on it.
The documented (with numerous footnotes to original source documents) bottom line for this doctorial thesis level research paper was never believe anything that the FBI, BATF, or similar agencies tell you when they come looking for direct military support or access to military equipment.
Waco was not a proud moment for JTF 6 and personnel assigned to it.
Also, an important name and a central character in the series, is Thibodeux, first name, I forget but he seems to have survived the seige. He was a friend of Koresh’s and at the Paramount Network website, they even have more on the siege, interviews with people like Thibodeux.

A lot of those guys that came into the FBI and ATF in the early 90s were guys that were too young for Vietnam, but missed out on Desert Storm. They loved to play solider against harmless people that don’t shoot back. Well, in the case of Waco, they weren’t going down without a fight. Good for them.
I mean for heaven’s sake, after Ruby Ridge liberal NWO Republican HW Bush called the ATF/FBI jack booted thugs.
