Full Title: Trump wants a military parade and liberals are hysterical (just more proof it's the right thing to do)
President Trump wants a parade celebrating our military and troops. It’s a great idea, and is a perfect event symbolizing the fact that America is getting back on her feet after eight years of a commander-in-chief who reveled in complaining about America and decimating our military.
The hysteria the proposed parade has provoked among Democrats and leftists provides even more proof that it’s the right thing to do.
Who could argue against a parade that highlights the Americans who defend our freedom and make everything else possible? A military parade would be fun, would honor our vets and would remind the world that America is a superpower and proud of it.
For eight years, President Obama’s administration worked hard to tell the world that America was done. He slashed the military’s budget and withdrew us from the world. Horrifically, on foreign soil he apologized for and chastised his own country.
President Obama gave the impression, through word and deed, that he thought the U.S. was the problem in the world.
The result was abject chaos, terrorist groups spreading around the world like cancer, economic stagnation, North Korea getting atomic weapons, and a worldwide refugee crisis the extent of which had not been seen since World War II.
Critics of President Trump’s parade idea complain that only tyrants and strongmen want military parades. But President Trump’s inspiration was the Bastille Day celebration and military parade he viewed in France – a Western nation with a democratically elected government that no one could accuse of being an oppressive military dictatorship.

Do they embarrass you? I’d like to see them, and I think many other Americans would too.
It will be a TINY part of the military - it’s not like the whole military has to stand down for this.

That’s what I’m figuring too. Most people I know in the military are PROUD OF IT, and want to show others their stuff.

In my wildest dreams, I never, ever thought of military parade, but if President Trump wants it:

It's always good to give any vehicle a little bit of "exercise"", instead of just letting it sit still and decay in the garage...

True...but Trump just boosted military spending big-time, and the cost of moving even tanks is peanuts compared to that.

Seriously, what do we have to prove?
Who are we trying to impress? Or who are we trying To scare. Are we celebrating a military victory?
A parade like this is going to cost tens of millions of dollars.

Forgive me, but I have seen this man on several occasions, and I feel he is not genuine. There is something disturbing about him. Not the least of which, his buddies, don’t appear to me, to be very supportive.
Makes me wonder if he was the one who took “the shot.”
Perhaps the real shooter has the intellect not to brag about it.
Tell them that a gay pride parade can follow up the military parade and it all should be good to go...../s =.=
I would love to see some hardware. Planes and helicopers and why not tanks? Are they a little scary?

I believe in the ability of free enterprise to improve quality & reduce prices. Highway socialism doesn’t work. Socialism hasn’t worked for 60 years.
Let’s eliminate the federal gasoline tax and fully privatize the interstates. Use the funds raised to pay off the National Debt.
Nah. I attended the parade in DC after the Gulf War. Huge crowds, cheering, highly motivating.

My younger son was stationed in DC with Marine Presidential Security Forces in 2004. He had a car there and always maintained traffic signs there were merely suggestions.
