Sunday, 12:31AM: Disney/Marvel’s Black Panther is even more ferocious than ever imagined. Late night estimates (not from Disney) indicate that T’Challa is headed to $194M over three-days after a super Saturday night between $66.8M-$68M which is only 11% down from Friday on the high-end. Also if you back out $25.2M Thursday previews from Friday’s $76.4M, Saturday’s business is still technically +33%. So that means business for Black Panther wasn’t front-loaded. Four-day figures remain a wild forecast for many analysts: They’re certain that Black Panther is expected to clear $220M, but he could fly as high as $230M. Projections at this minute are averaging around $223M. Over three-days, Black Panther now beats Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s 3-day number of $191.2M for the fifth best opening of all-time behind Avengers ($207.4M). On a four-day basis, it will also beat Ultron ($204.4M), but it might kick Avengers 4-day haul as well ($226.3M).

AND it demonstrates how egalitarian this country is; its colorblind when the product is good.
I will lay odds that most of the people crabbing about this have not been to a movie since the 1980’s.
If one can afford a movie ticket, then one doesn’t need any government financial assistance
All I want to know is that if its a good movie.

Proof more blacks are working and have disposable income!
I saw it last night. It was good. I only went because of a 16 year old boy that I mentor. We saw it on a giant IMAX screen so that helped. Well made. Good acting and characters. They spent the time to make an actual movie with a story and some character development rather than simply overload with CGI and ‘superhero’ battles. Could be interpreted to have political overtones but not overwhelming by any means.
OK I haven’t been to a theater in years and I won’t for this one but this review isn’t bad.

Well thank you for that honest review. Sounds worth seeing. Every movie reviewed today is through liberal SJW glasses; just try to find a review on this movie without some liberal squish trying to insert identity politics into their review.

You are correct. I haven’t set foot in a movie theater since “The Passion” which I went to see because Dan Rather was bashing it for a full year before it was released. Thanks Dan! Unknowningly, Danny Rather played a significant role in the success of Gibsons “The Passion”!
I did see (DVD) a couple of Marvel Comic based super-hero themed movies and read several articles lamenting how this genre of cinema was ruining the film industry as a source of art rather than a money producing engine. I sort of agree with that argument.
It’s hard to beat a movie channel subscription on big screen TV from the comfort of your own abode.
BTW, the main reason I don’t go out to movies is that movie theaters are disgustingly unsanitary. I do venture outside to hike and fish... shop etc... I’m not a germ-o-phobe but if one can couch-potato at their place for a movie, why wouldn’t they
