NRA: Corporate Boycotts of NRA a ‘Shameful Display of Political and Civic Cowardice’
Breitbart News ^ | 24 Feb, 2018 | AWR Hawkins

Following news that more than a dozen companies had severed ties with the NRA, ending discounts for the group’s over five million members, the NRA issued a statement pointing out that more companies are ready and willing to step in and partner with law-abiding gun owners. On February 24 Breitbart News reported a summary list of companies planning to end their relationship with the NRA:

First National Bank of Omaha Enterprise Rent-A-Car Symantec Metlife Delta Airlines United Best Western Alamo Rent a Car Avis Allied Van Lines Budget Chubb Insurance Hertz North American Van Lines Paramount Rx SimpliSafe TrueCar The NRA sent Breitbart News a statement regarding companies’ decisions to sever ties:

The more than five million law-abiding members of the National Rifle Association have enjoyed discounts and cost-saving programs from many American corporations that have partnered with the NRA to expand member benefits.

Since the tragedy in Parkland, Florida, a number of companies have decided to sever their relationship with the NRA, in an effort to punish our members who are doctors, farmers, law enforcement officers, fire fighters, nurses, shop owners and school teachers that live in every American community. We are men and women who represent every American ethnic group, every one of the world’s religions and every form of political commitment.

I think the backlash against the traitors will be severe.

You beat me to it. Scissored affinity cards mailed back by the tens of thousands & Southwest Airlines (”Fly Our Muslim-free Skies!”) finds business is booming.

These leftists organizing the boycotts don't even patronize these businesses anyway.

Several of Rush's advertisers found that out the hard way. They thought they were doing something proud over the Fluke thing but wound up losing both Rush's listeners and Rush's prime advertising slots too. And the liberals sure as Hell didn't sign up in droves to support them.

Just don't understand how Corporations continue to fall for this crap. There are about a couple of dozen or so leftists being organized to make it look like the whole country is pissed and want "action."

Hard to punish car rental agencies. They're all there.

Most locations have independents which may offer better prices and service.

The NRA isn't the AARP -- people don't join it for the discounts. People join the NRA because they care about preserving the Second Amendment.

The only thing this boycott campaign will accomplish is to hurt the companies that cave in to it, because I believe myself and many of my fellow NA members are going to be taking our business elsewhere.

In fact, I just cancelled a weeklong rental in Florida from National (part of Enterprise), and went with Thrifty. Then I sent an extra $100 to the NRA.

Great to be alive!

These companies should be labeled as delusional school shooting enablers.

I had let my membership lapse years ago. Just re-upped today, after all of the media vitriol aimed at the NRA and its spokes-folks and members.

A lot of people in the corporate executive ranks are leftists. As older executives retire, I expect that trend to become a lot more visible in the coming years. This isn’t the Reagan 80’s anymore; people need to understand that “big business” is very often going to be outright hostile to conservatives.

I do not own a firearm (rethinking that, now!), do not have one in my house, right now, and have never shot with a firearm. However, I now absolutely DO plan to join the NRA!!

The companies cutting ties with the NRA will regret their knee jerk decisions. No one joins the NRA for discounts or credit cards. They join to preserve America’s First Freedom and the right to self defense and defense of the family. Supporting the NRA is not a business decision.

"I think the backlash against the traitors will be severe."

How many guns were sold during the Obama years?! If only a small percentage of those sales resulted in NRA memberships the recoil to this antigun spasm should be sharp.

That’s for sure. I’ve been a life member since ‘86 and have
never signed up for any of those discounts or credit cards.

But I won’t be forgetting any of these companies or the knife they put in MY back.

I've been a NRA member off and on since '94.

Today I joined for two more years, purely out of spite.
