I have not seen any proof that low fat has any way to stop diabetes. Fat is one of best ways to help your body burn fat.

One way to prevent diabetes is to stay away from fake sugar, except for Stevia (a plant). Eat fruits and vegetables, meat, chicken, in right portions. Extreme diets do not work over long run.
Losing weight is key to diabetics lowering meds, and being healed. Walking, and eating correct foods like nuts, seeds, and fruits instead of chips, French fries, or sweets. Too many people think corn, potatoes, and peas are vegetables, NO they are starches! No processed canned foods or cereals, rice, pasta, or sugar until at proper weight.
One way to lose weight and bring blood sugar under control is to use the DANIEL FAST in Bible. Eat only foods grown in dirt (except for potatoes, corn, peas) and snack on nuts, seeds, and fruit. Use spices, especially cinnamon as they are from dirt.
No meat, or dairy during that that 21 day fast. No coffee, sodas, milk... use water w lemon....8 glasses a day.
I did that fast during January with Jentezen Franklin Church ( I do not live in that area), as they do it every year after New Years. I wasn’t doing it to lose weight, but to get closer to God. I lost 10 lbs.
I used Almond Milk to make fruit smoothies for breakfast, and I found I did quite well, no hunger. The cleansing that took place was beneficial, even after the fast was over.
By adding daily Bible reading to a full chapter, and extra prayer, the Daniel Fast brought blessings way beyond the weight loss! There are lists of food, recipes, and testimonies online.
WE control our lives, or our lives control us...including our bodies! Blessings.
