The 2-year-old girl kept begging her mother for popcorn during a showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Long Island, N.Y.
Keri Karman, 25, seated next to Harley Riggs, snapped at the toddler to keep quiet during the Jan. 2 showing at a Levittown theater, Nassau County police told The New York Daily News. When Harleys mom, Celia Riggs, 28, told Karman not to talk to her daughter, a wild scene broke out.
Karman cursed and yelled, then clamped her hand over Harleys mouth. She grabbed a tub of popcorn from Celia Riggs and dumped it over Harleys head, striking the child with the empty container, the publication reported. Karman and her father, Charles Karman, 61, ran out of the theater while Celia Riggs tried to comfort her sobbing daughter, who suffered a bruise.
Nassau County Police Department detectives used surveillance video and credit card receipts to track down the Karmans, according to the Daily News.

Bratty kid gets free popcorn, film at 11:00...
And the parents. Shame on them for taking a 2-year old to that movie. It is not suitable, they will be clueless about it, and will surely fidget and talk.
And what theater is so desperate to allow a 2-year into the movie?! Did the kid pay for their seat?
Facia Brute
Idiot parents, idiot moviegoer. This is why we can’t have nice things anymore.
I guess movie popcorn just isn’t expensive enough for some people
Yup. I'd hesitate to take a well behaved 7 year old to a Star Wars movie, let alone a toddler.
True, but would it have hurt if the witch had simply offered the child the popcorn in exchange for shutting up rather than dump it on her?
Who takes a 2 year old to a movie theater especially these days when you can Pay-Per-View at home after some time.
Why didn’t mama share her popcorn with her child to begin with?
It wasn’t a 2-year old asking mama to go buy some MORE popcorn, it was mama keeping it to herself. If the child kept asking for more (and was receiving a little) the child still was not being permitted to grab directly from the bucket repeatedly without need of interruption.
It doesn’t justify clamping “your” hand over someone else’s child’s mouth or stealing their popcorn and throwing it at the annoying child.
But mama could’ve stepped out of the theater with child and avoided the whole mess instead of interrupting the audience’s enjoyment of the film. Or next time hire a babysitter.
Never mind- just realized the mother had the popcorn in the first place and evidently wasn’t sharing it with her own daughter. Now that’s weirder than bringing a 2 year old to a sci fi movie.
They’re all from the dark side.
The nose knows ....lordy...is she descended from Jimmy Durante?
No wonder she goes to movies with dad
Well, you know what they say: Karma(n)’s a bitch...
The mother should have NEVER bought the popcorn in the first place....or taken the "baby" to the movie.
Guess mama never heard of terrible twos.
A two year old who can’t keep quiet during a movie (that includes most two year olds) doesn’t belong in a movie theatre.
It didn’t happen often, but if one of my kids started fussing at a restaurant, even a family restaurant like Denny’s, I’d take the baby/child outside. For some people, a meal out at Denny’s is a treat they save for; strangers shouldn’t have to listen to my kid fuss.
That being said, the movie patron who dumped the popcorn on the child was out of line.
Shameeka just shoot 'em at Black Panter flik.
She tight, yo.
Leave the kid, bring the gunnola.
