Fearing For His Life, a Christian Refugee in Austria Returns to Syria, Where It’s Safer
Gates of Vienna ^ | 8 Mar, 2018 | Baron Bodissey

A young Christian from Syria fled to Austria to escape persecution. When he arrived in Europe, he found himself forced into the company of “refugees” who supported the Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra. He had to keep his Christian faith a secret, or risk being killed. Eventually he returned to Syria, where he felt he was more likely to be safe.

Anton, who translated the German video report below for subtitling, includes this introduction:

A Christian Syrian refugee, Spiro Haddad, recalls his illegal journey to Austria.

On the way, he is met by people who openly confide their allegiance to ISIS and Al-Nusra. He doesn’t feel safe in Europe, so he returns to Syria.

The ISIS and Al-Nusra followers remain and want to Islamize Europe, and convert the churches into mosques.

Not if he gets to an area under Syrian govt and army control

The more Assad and Russia clean out jihadists, the more are going to show up as “ refugees” in Europe

Or the Kurdish SDF. Either is probably a good bet.

That’s what the neocons and their ISIS allies would have us believe. And yet, with ISIS and McCain’s islamist rebel buddies out of Aleppo, Christians are returning to areas under govt control.

I know a conservative evangelical Christian who lived for several several years under Assad Sr. Not free, but Christians were not oppressed. Surveiled to a degree, yes. The radical islamists we then, as now, the enemy.

Over 600,000 displaced persons/refugees returned to Aleppo in 2017. Pictures I saw last week from there showed people in one of their beautiful parks. At Christmas, people were worshipping in restored Churches.

One thing that has impressed me in places like Aleppo was how quickly I saw Syrians and Russians repaving roads, repairing infrastructure. It was something I have never seen.

Where I live it’s like an obstacle course to avoid potholes that feel like your wheel just broke off if you hit one.

Sure.

There is a cadre in this forum who seem to project all the evils of the Western-supported islamists onto the govt. Note, I am NOT saying that the Assad regime is good.

Even the so-called white helmets were taken over by the islamists?

Damascus will soon be free from the scum rebels shelling the city from Ghouta. The Russians and Syrians have been pounding them from the air. The SAA split the rebel pocket, and it is encircled.

This is the biggest battle of the Syrian War.

The Kurds near Deir Ezzor have left to fight the Turks in Afrin. Not looking good for the Kurds right now.

This situation will last until Hillary, Kerry, 0bama and McCain (or whoever replaces them as chief U.S. warmongers) finally get rid of Assad.

The White Helmets have always been Islamists, Al Qaeda, to be exact...and they have been heavily financed by the UK, and Brits are furious now that they got red pilled.

Do a web search for the “Assad Curse”...

It is kinda like the “Trump Curse”.

Neither of them are going anywhere.

Brave guys for sure.
I read that one of the White Helmet founders was “ martyred” today
The Syrians and Russians must be getting close to the bottom of the snake pit

Even though the propagandists in the media don’t want us to know it, but Syria under Assad was (and is) VERY SAFE for Christians.

Assad may hate Israel, maybe be buddies with Russia and Iran, but he treats his Christians FAR BETTER than anyone we’ve backed in that country.

‘Assad may hate Israel’

I don’t actually think so.

Agree - it’s tough to really read him.

We’re told he’s a monster, yet PBS goes inside his country, even in a state of war, and it’s certainly not what we’re conditioned to expect:
