POTUS Trump Pardons Ex-Navy Sailor Jailed For Taking Pictures On Nuclear Submarine. Well, Maybe, President Trump will also do this "Pardon and Reinstate Lt. Col. Terry Lakin"

On Jan 25, 2017 – A White House petition was launched the day after Donald Trump’s inauguration to “reinstate Lt. Col. Terry Lakin into the U.S. Army with full rank, pay, benefits and pension immediately.” “Court-martialed, imprisoned, expelled from the Army and denied pay, pension and benefits,” Col Lakin, got a raw deal. He wanted to see Obummers birth certificate and refused to deploy to Afghanistan.

A new petition needs to be sent to President Trump for his review.

Col Lakin, got a raw deal. He wanted to see Obummers birth certificate and refused to deploy to Afghanistan.

He certainly was made an example so as to "hush" ANY further questions about the usurper's qualifications.

I believe there was also a USAF Missile Combat Crewmember who was drummed out (in record time) because he simple asked about the legitimacy of the Chain of Command.

No refusal to deploy, simply wanted proof of legitimate CINC.

A friend of mine was a key member of his defense team who hired my daughter to transpose his prison diaries for their website.

I’d sign the petition

TPTB certainly made an example of this young man. He thought just as many others - BO’B is NOT qualified to hold this position. Very simple. Mr. President, he was treated worse than the vocal browbeating given to you. He has been punished in the most inhumane ways to get him to submit to something in which he strongly rejects. BTW, AMERICA has STILL never seen an authentic version of BO’Bs BC.

Justice will never be served until truth about this black devil is at last known and he reveals himself completely.

You don’t let your buddies down. I have little sympathy for the thousands of excuses I’ve heard to not deploy, including this one.

Refused to deploy? Uh, no.

If by that, you mean that refusal should negate any consideration of a presidential pardon, I might agree, but not on the basis of what is in the public record.

For instance, if an officer is ordered to massacre US civilians, should the officer follow that order and protest later?

In any event, Lakin's protest should have served as an alert to those in the military command who swore to protect the Constitution. What better way to signal a possible, if not likely, coup than an attempt to grab the WH by one who, on the face of it is not qualified and refuses to qualifiy? Most particularly when qualification is a very simple clerical matter.

With the clarity of hindsight, we can see the logical outcome of the known corruption in Obama's WH was indeed such a coup. We do not yet know the extent of that corruption and should assume the coup is not entirely resolved.

At the least, Trump should fully pardon LtCol Lakin if only to serve as a message of encouragement to those LEO's, military officers and government officials charged with directly protecting the Constitution.

I most certainly hope that Lakin doesn’t get pardoned. Instead of refusing to deploy, he should have resigned in protest.

There’s no one here who had greater contempt for that vile enemy of the republic, Obama. However, the Constitution provides that the election is certified when the votes of the Electoral College are opened at the joint session and the someone gets more than half. Period. Full stop. Whether or not that should have happened, it did. There is no provision in law for invalidating that act based on any claims, including the birth certificate issue. This guy was seriously misguided and his course always doomed to failure

Refused to deploy?

Sorry doesn’t fly with me

If this was something he posted on fakebook or twatter and the military got rid of him for it, I could see his point, but refusing to do your job, sorry, it doesn’t fly with me.

President Trump should deny this.

That's exactly why Trump shouldn't pardon Lakin. It's providing a ready-made excuse for any serving officer who does not like the results of an election. What happens when some Democrat refuses to deploy because of "Russian interference" in 2016?

LCol. (not Lt. Col.) Lakin was acting so far out of his paygrade it wasn't even funny.

I figure many unlawful orders were given under Obama’s watch & these all need to be reviewed. I know it will take time, but if justice is ever done there should be prosecutions by the truckload afterwards.

This would be too much to expect in our lifetime. We will be long buried before any justice might be found (if ever).
The anger within grows too fast. It spills over, never to evaporate.

One can debate the pros and cons of the case of Col Lakin, as has been done here, however, the case for the pardon of Lt. Clint Lorance, a victim of the gross injustice of the Obama administration, and military, is indisputable, and should be granted immediately.

Those (few) of you unfamiliar with the case ought look up the facts of this travesty of justice. Nauseating, and infuriating, all at once!

It appears you may also find little merit in the various "whistle-blower" statutes. Lakin had a legitimate argument and he presented that argument in advance of the date of his deployment; his chain of command was unable to deal with it properly and almost certainly was coerced by political forces. Lakin's choice to refuse deployment was unfortunate, but would not have been the determining factor in a fair hearing, if such a hearing had even been necessary.

Like many of us, Lakin could not at the time imagine his argument would fail to gain meaningful and powerful allies. What Lakin or the rest of us didn't count on was the failure of the entire government.

One can make a cogent argument for why it would have appeared - at that time - a better result for that command, indeed our nation, to have Obama in the WH instead of Hillary. But Lakin was sacrificed in the process - a lesson that patriots who attempt to defend the Consitution against powerful domestic enemies should proceed cautiously.

Have a nice weekend, pal.

No, because whistle-blowing is a verbal or written report of conduct you believe to be unlawful. It is not a refusal to carry out orders.

Officers are taught that you can refuse to obey illegal orders. But you better be damn sure you're right about the order being illegal. Considering that every single other person in the chain of command above him, and all of his peers, believed those deployment orders were lawful, what he did was essentially a mutiny. And a stupid one at that.

He openly admitted that he did it as a test case. Refusing to obey orders so as to create a test case is simply bogus. As I said, if we excused what Lakin did, then you'd have to excuse any other officer who refused to obey Dubya's orders because they disagreed with his election, Trump's orders because they disagreed with his, etc..

That absolutely cannot be tolerated.

Like many of us, Lakin could not at the time imagine his argument would fail to gain meaningful and powerful allies.

If that's Lakin's argument, then he was an idiot. As I pointed out above, not a single other officer joined him in this, and surely he had discussed his thoughts with others. Every single one of his superiors considered Obama's orders lawful, and Lakin would have known that the very first time he pushed back on deploying. The court-martial would not have been the first reaction. the first reaction would have been him sitting down with superiors asking him if he was out of his freaking mind.

He knew he was a loner out on a limb, and hopped out on that limb anyway. Zero sympathy.
