Apparently there is come concern in that regard, also:
(from the article)
"Last week, Best Buy, the nation's largest electronics retailer, cut ties with Huawei. It plans to stop selling the Chinese company's smartphones as well as laptops and smartwatches. "
Sorry it seems there was not a mention in the proposed legislation of particular vendors.
“Pai didn’t specify which companies or countries would be banned as part of the proposal. Officials from the FCC said on a call with reporters that the proposal seeks comment on that question. “
But the article then goes on to mention the two vendors, regarding other communications on possible issues.
Excuse the confusion.
Excuse me.
It turns out the article mentions the two vendors in the title, but evidently they are NOT mentioned in the proposed legislation.
So maybe the title could be changed, to reflect that? Or else the article can be completely cancelled.
Thank you.
Any explanations for bonded and certified techtards welcome.
Sorry.
Here is a copy of the summary paragraph from the article:
“Chairman Ajit Pai unveils a plan to bar carriers receiving government subsidy funds from using equipment from Chinese gear makers Huawei and ZTE, among others.”
The CFO, daughter of the founder, is held by Canada for extradition to US to face charges on evading Iran embargo.
2 strange things: she was arrested just before the Trump/Xi dinner at G-20; and the arrest was kept secret for 4 days.
Guess it will be ZTE all over (but x 10),
Asian markets open may be interesting...
