A pipe broke at Dodger Stadium Tuesday, flooding the field with sewage and putting a premature end to the final preseason game.
The Dodgers and Angels were facing off in the finale of the preseason Freeway Series when the pipe burst in the bottom of the 5th inning. The Dodgers were up 4-3 at the time.
The sewage flooded part of the field. The smell was described as quite powerful as cleanup crews worked to mop up the mess.
"It smells really bad, man," one Angels fan in the stands said as he watched the cleanup crew work.

Ah, Mexipornia.
Land of dreams.
Toxic ones.
Oh well, the big one will take care of some of it,
If you just go 2 miles south, you will find the Streets Are the same Way!!!
A lot of bad ball-park beer and digested nachos and hot dogs in that sludge.
Isnt Dodger Stadium located in an area of East LA called Chavez Ravine? I guess now it will be Chavez Latrine now. Its symbolic of what the state of California has become!
“final preseason” game.
Had to do two double takes on that.
No joking. I have never seen any other culture where soiled diapers are so routinely discard just anywhere.
We'd have fully operational restrooms at a job I had and the cultural Hispanics would still discard their poopy paper in the trash cans, or on the floors. Just boggles the mind. Maybe it makes them feel at home?
In 100 AD the Romans would fill the Colosseum with water and stage navel battle reenactments. In 2018 we fill our Colosseums with sewage.
A navel battle reenactment seems like more fun.
At least the Romans knew how to handle sewers. This seems to be a dying art in the Golden State.
Sure it's an old Giants fan jab that's been used before, but had to LOL at that one.
So, the NL has adopted the designated (s)hitter?
Time for the 7th Inning stench?
You are correct about Chavez Ravine, But Dodger Stadium is North of downtown LA and is actually very close to Chinatown.
Maybe now they know what it feels like to be Trump and the conservatives trying to clean up someone else’s sh*t!
Yeah, I know but now it actually is the truth. LOL.
Apparently baseball is following the lead of the NFL. The NFL decided years ago to call their exhibition games preseason games. This game was simply an exhibition game between the Dodgers and Angels. Apparently it sounds more important to call it a preseason game as opposed to an exhibition game.
Thanks for the info.
OMG. Check out the pic at the link. WTH weren’t the people assigned to clean up in PPE?! That stuff is a biohazard!
Part of the Commissioner’s new Pace of Play Initiative, I presume.
Any game that is not proceeding along at the prescribed pace will be ended in the 5th. inning by a random sewage flow.
