I am all for cops and first responders/Firemen getting good pay but some states like Mexifornia pay way too much and offer far too extravagant pensions that can not be sustained by the state taxes and I have no doubt that federal funds get funneled to pay for it.

As if all these Pols couldn’t guess what was going to happen with Medicaid expansion in their states. Well, I guess it got them re-elected so.....Mission Accomplished. Now someone else is left holding the bag.
Show me a state that doesn't have a significant percentage of the population on the public dole. These are career/lifetime deadbeats, enabled by politicians who are interested solely in keeping a cushy, lucrative job.
Show me a state that isn't awash in crimigrants, filthy third world invaders who don't respect our culture, and are only interested in fleecing the gringo.
Eliminate those two demographics, and you'll be amazed at how easy it is to balance the budget.
The brokest states are run into the ground by democRATS.
Members of public sector unions play this little game where they selectively call off work and force the employer to pay their buddies overtime. Then the buddies return the favor the following month.
Transit drivers in Pittsburgh have been caught doing it several times.
