Facebook's chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, has admitted more data breaches could come to light as the company investigates its practices following the privacy scandal.

Sandberg conceded Facebook was guilty of a '10 out of 10' breach of their users' trust when it came to data privacy and that bosses should have acted 'two and a half years ago' when it first realised Cambridge Analytica was hoarding personal data.

Speaking to NBC's Today programme, Sandberg also laid the ground for her boss Mark Zuckerberg's appearance before Congress, saying he had 'already apologized' and wanted to tell representatives what his firm were doing to make things right.

Not data breaches. Willing sales of personal user data to buyers clutching bundles of money, thirsting to get their fangs into private information that suckerburg persuaded users to give up.

Yes, that’s possible’: Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg reveals there could be MORE data breaches [tr]

Why are they calling it a data breach? It wasn’t a breach it was sold.

Mark Zuckerberg's appearance before Congress, saying he had 'already apologized'

Well, if he's already apologized, why does he need to go before Congress? /sarc

ANY OTHER SECRET PLANS FOR OUR DATA, ZUCK?

We learned belatedly that Facebook sent a doctor on a secret mission to ask hospitals to share patients’ confidential health data.

The story for public consumption is Facebook asked several major U.S. hospitals to share anonymized data about their patients (illnesses and prescription info), for a “proposed research project.” Facebook “said” it intended to match it up with user data it had collected, so it could “help” the hospitals figure out which patients might need special care or treatment.

This is so much BS......language designed to paper over another one of many of Facebook’s nefarious activities.

As we have learned to our dismay, the public Facebook-—all sweetness and light—— “says” one thing for public consumption, but behind the scenes is a different story.

REALITY CHECK-—Facebook was possibly colluding with Obama to mine data for the O/Care atrocity, perhaps to provide intel to O/Care’s Death Panels.

Why isnt Maxine Waters being subpoenaed?

She blabbed and bragged that Obama had a secret data base on all of us....to be used exclusively by Democrat candidates.

Here's what Facebook REALLY fears: the revelation that all data on that service was passed on directly to Obama Administration officials, especially during the 2012 election.

Of course there is more! To Clinton, to Obama, to Dems, to China. He sold out his users far more directly than what went on with Analytica and other developers. Bet he has lots to fear. Hopefully congressional investigators are on the ball and prepared with the right questions and some evidence when he shows up on capital hill. I don’t think he handles exposure and risk well. Might be interesting.

Prolly right about that. The truth is slowly dripping out.

This evasive tactic is being widely used nowadays when perpetrators are caught in wrongdoing. First, minimize the admission. Second, “correct” the data to show a “slight” increase in the numbers. Third, recultantly admit to the possibility that that other data may be “found”. And finally, slowly release the incriminating data in drips and drabs over a long period of time.

The purpose of this whole exercise is, of course, to slow walk the release of unfavorable information thereby dragging out the process over time to confuse and mislead people.

Unfortunately, this devious delaying tactic seems to work in both government and in the private sector. It takes a very long time for the truth to come out. And by the time it does, everyone has forgotten about the original problem or crime.

I don’t think Zuck handles exposure and risk well. Might be interesting.

(hat tip Reno89519 earlier post) Zuckerberg is desperately focusing on current disclosures, deflecting attention from himself, hoping he doesn’t get asked about:

(1) disclosures and collusion direct/indirectly with Obama,

(2) disclosures and collusion direct/indirectly with Clinton,

(3) disclosures and collusion direct/indirectly with anti-Trump and anti-Republican and anti-conservative forces, and,

(4) disclosures and collusion direct/indirectly with China and other American enemies.

Facebook is a US Intel Agency sanctioned data gathering program which is self supporting and cost the Gov nothing to obtain data on users. While working at the US Dept of State, I installed various programs... some were for inputting information of foreign leaders electronically which was modeled on the International data base for Criminal and Immigration purposes - Facebook asks all the questions and fields all the data in a seamless and entertaining manner but all that data ends up at the NSA in real time. Every gov in the world is trying get their own people to use their own databases.... Hence the concern with Yahoo being Chinese, but Google, MS, and Facebook are all US data gathering agents for the USG.
