This is likely what’s driving the epidemic of rape in India lately as well. The latest two, an 8-yo girl in Kashmir and a second less-publicized one a few days later, are roiling India and have the potential to badly damage the ruling BJP just before the next election cycle kicks off.
I notice the article artfully avoids mentioning why those girls were never born: they were aborted.
The state encourages the killing of all infants, but as is typical with socialist/marxist, centrally-planned regimes, the unintended consequences are even more perverse.
India and China share a common border. Have a conventional war WW I style with levies of unmarried man ...problem solved.
I remember reading a number of years ago that the Chinese men that could afford it, mostly middle class, were going to places like Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines to get wives. I read more recently that some were even taking African women as wives. I imagine the ones getting African wives were laying down roots there.
The latest catch phrase of feminists is: The Future is Female.
Ironic that these same feminists love abortion so much and don’t want it limited for any reason whatsoever. Even when it is coerced. Even when female babies in the womb are targeted for extermination in preference of male offspring.
At some point, the persistent killing of girl babies will lead to such a numerical imbalance relative to boys, that it will increase the risk of war.
The US has a gender imbalance. Need more men to be masculine.

They also fail to account for the impact of the increased number of prostitutes who will likely have NO children, let alone girls.

70 million/2.703 billion = 2.59%
Does not seem such a large proportion?
