New York Yankees Post Message of Support for Bullied 10-Year-Old Girl: 'We Got Your Back'

A 10-year-old girl from Pennsylvania received a special shout-out from the New York Yankees after sharing her experience of bullying in a heartbreaking video. The video shows Cassidy Slater, of Scranton, holding up sheets of paper describing the hardship she faces at her elementary school every day from bullies. "There's 4 of them and only 1 of me," she wrote....{snip}

Among the video's many viewers were the New York Yankees. Some members of the team responded to her with a video of their own, using the same format with pieces of paper.

The video started with Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia holding up a piece of paper that says, ‘Dear Cassidy, My name is CC Sabathia and I play baseball for the New York Yankees." The next sheet read, "My teammates and I wanted you to know that we care about you."

This child was also taunted online by the (adult) lunchroom worker. Out of curiosity, I looked up the elementary school in question and minority enrollment is 75%.

Hat Tip to the New York Yankees.

You don't say? My goodness, I'm totally gobsmacked! But, but … there must be something wrong with the story.

I bet that little girl forgot to check her white privilege!   /s

How many loses rolled up into one. A number of them. Forced public schooling. Race grievances egged on by crazy lefty politics. Bullies.

What is a poor “privileged” paleface to do.

Maybe her parents should move from the area if they can’t school her better. Let these malicious-minority zones collapse on themselves and become the local government’s problem.

I haven’t been to Scranton in 40 years. Is it a shithole?

My parents helped me learn to deal with grade school bullies. The New York Yankees did not have to get involved.

Parts of it are falling into mine shafts. It's main advantage is it's right next-door to Wilkes-Barre, which is worse.

“My parents helped me learn to deal with grade school bullies. The New York Yankees did not have to get involved.”

So did mine but times are different.
The race card wasn’t in play back then and political correctness hadn’t been born then.
Unless you are a member of a protected class, be it skin pigmentation, religion or sexual deviancy, you aren’t allowed to defend yourself.

The world grew up into a hell of a place. I hate the 21st century.

Why doesn’t the article mention racism? /s
