Wait... Ed Edwards’ middle name is “Wayne???” WTH is it with Waynes?

Since he was born in 1933, I doubt it. Wayne’s acting career had started by then, but he wasn’t the sort of household name you name your kids after. Even by John Wayne Gacy’s birth (1942), I still doubt anyone would immediately identify “John Wayne” with masculinity. (”Stagecoach” was Wayne’s main starring role in a hit movie at the time.)

Environment has nothing to do with it. Ed Edwards made the choice to be a total screw up and chose to be a killer. Other people, who have had bad childhoods, have made the choice to live good lives.

He killed Lacey Peterson?!? No way. Jimmy Hoffa? No way. The Black Dalia when he was 13 and in another state? No way. Total bunk.

Very interesting. Although I never followed the career of John Wayne much, it sounds like you are probably right. And what's more, I looked up John Wayne Gacy to see if there was a clue where his middle name came from and it turns out his full name was John Wayne Gacy, Jr.

So much for that theory.
