Social media took center stage on Capitol Hill again Thursday, April 26, 2018. The House Judiciary Committee held a hearing examining the “Filtering Practices of Social Media Platforms.”
While certain Republican members of Congress and the pro-Trump duo Diamond and Silk argued social media platforms are politically biased against conservatives, other witnesses and Democrats claimed the hearing was “ridiculous” and a distraction. […]
Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) spoke next (after Bob Goodlatte), questioning Congress’ priorities in addressing how social media sites run, rather than discussing potential Russian interference in the election through social media.
“In short, House Republicans have no time for substantive oversight of the Trump administration, or election security, or privacy policy, or even a discussion about the wisdom of regulating social media platforms, but they have made time for Diamond and Silk,” Nadler said.
Nadler also accused Diamond and Silk and House Republicans of perpetuating what he called a false claim that Silicon Valley is engaged in a plot to censor conservatives.
“The notion that social media companies are filtering out conservative voices is a hoax: a tired narrative of imagined victimhood as the rest of the country grapples with a feckless president and out-of-control administration,” he continued. “The majority designed this hearing to perpetuate that hoax.” …

So the censorship of Republican sites is a hoax? Well Jerry, who is running the hoax, who ran the hoax? Is it another one of those vast right-wing conspiracies? Is it the same kind of hoax as Lois Lerner suppressing conservative websites? Because Democrats howled that that too was a hoax when it was brought to public attention. And since then it has been exhaustively proven. But nothing ever seems to happen to the folks who are running the kind of propaganda that these left this sites promulgate and promote. Zuckerberg himself in testimony 3 days ago said that Silicon Valley as a profoundly left-leaning. Or doesn’t your fat brain remember that?
The story that Nadler has two functioning brain cells is a hoax.
They’re going to go around in circles on this because the “procedures and policies” are absolutely worded to neutral.
The problem is that the procedures FB and other networks use to provision their filters includes “crowd sourced” complaints, and the serially offended LIBERAL users use this mechanism to report every conservative voice they can.
Conservatives generally believe that people have a right to say what they want and if we disagree with someone we use the built-in mechanisms to filter them from our feeds. Liberals approach the question of freedom of speech from a more “dictatorial” view that disagreement with them is “oppression” and they respond by using the provided mechanisms to report “oppressive” content and get it filtered from the public feed.
The end result is censorship because the Networks can see the statistics that show their crowd sourcing mechanisms are being abused by the Liberals, but because they don’t disagree with that abuse, they allow it and enable it.
Take a look at Nadler’s far-left background at the sites www.keywiki.org and www.DiscoverTheNetwork.org.
Then you’ll know that he’s a lying red son of a bitch. Even al Sharpton didn’t like him back in the old days of NY politics including a group whose initials were NAN (National Action Network, I believe. Local Marxist NY City group).
