If a trade war breaks out, companies like Apple and Walmart will be caught in the crossfire, but Apple has the most to lose, CNBC's Jim Cramer argued on Friday.

"You can't crack down on China without hurting large swaths of the American economy," the "Mad Money" host said. "Why? because China's our biggest trading partner."

It's gonna happen. In my opinion.

China is not a trading "partner". China is taking advantage of us. Big time.

Apple, you had better adjust your sourcing.

China has had a trade war against us for decades.
Time to stop it.

They are worried about Walmart getting hurt? Oh well gee whiz, that’s too bad. Every now and then corrections happen, and this is one of them. When Walmart started to grow thousands of other businesses were put out of business. Those folks that lost their business have by now found something else to do to earn a living. Same will happen with Walmart if they lose their rear ends. Something else will happen to take up the slack. It’s how a free economy works.

Apple, you had better adjust your sourcing.

They are supposed to be building a manufacturing plant in Racine Wisconsin near the (just started construction of the 200,000 sq ft) Foxconn high-end screen manufacturing plant. Nothing heard about this Apple facility since the initial announcement some months back.

Its not so much the sourcing as the sales in China, although iPhone sales has fallen in sales rank recently

Canada is currently our 2nd largest goods trading partner with $582.4 billion in total (two way) goods trade during 2017. Goods exports totaled $282.5 billion; goods imports totaled $300.0 billion. The U.S. goods trade deficit with Canada was $17.5 billion in 2017.

The huge trade deficit with China indicates that China isn’t playing fair.

I'm sure the Walton family will be left destitute.

WalMart forced any and all of their vendors to seek China operations, in doing so they forced out of business many small family owned machine shops and manufacturing sites.

Screw 'em.

The small businesses in our town were always supporting the school kids with ads, prizes, donations. Wal-Mart? Yeah, right. $25. bucks if you ask at least 3 months in advance. Wal-Mart has never been a part of any community. Marshall, Michigan has the most vibrant downtown you will find. The leaders said screw that Wal-Mart.

Cramer: Apple has the most to lose from a trade war

Translation: Cramer has a short position in Apple.

Apple has enough cash on hand to re-source anywhere in the world.

They could build factories in Antarctica and pay to import workers and still probably make a profit.

It will hit their bottom line, but it won't break the company.
