This is what happens when the primary goal of the education cabal is to provide support to the Democrat Party.
Clearly, we need to reward this massive failure with higher pay.
I never looked at school as anything more than glorified day care, as I understand the political motivations of those who teach and especially those who run the schools. So these numbers never affected my kids, as all of their critical learning (i.e., math and reading) took place at home.
But I do feel sorry for the people who STILL think that our schools have the best interests of the children as their priority, as they are virtually always disappointed as they learn the truth, the hard way, at the expense of their kids.
Obviously we need more edd’s to correct this.
If liberls define proficient, then this is good news.
This is why we need universal free college.

I bet they are all well trained in the proper use of a Condom.
Ever since Dewey, schools are not for spreading knowledge, but instead for promoting activism and indoctrination in order to initiate leftard changes in society.

These people vote......................
In Oklahoma we just passed a $5K per year pay raise. I would have been OK with that if it came with an elimination of tenure so we could get rid of the teachers who are producing these results. We hired a bunch or teachers who are worth on average $42K per year. How exactly will giving the same people $47K per year improve our education system?
Absolutely criminal.
Decertify all teachers’ unions and close down the graduate schools of ed pronto. Phonics and traditional math education are the only way to go with the majority of students.
The best state is no higher than 50% proficiency in either math or reading.
The progressives plan to dumb down (and indoctrinate) our children has succeeded (look into John Dewey, The Frankfurt School).
Thank you! to (mostly female) pubic school teachers for all their NEA- and Democrat-led efforts on this!
God help America.
In our school district (2nd largest in Oregon) we are told that about 75% live under the “poverty level”....which means they are not counting all the social services received, ie, health care, food, free meals at school, etc. Right now we have a Bond to be voted on for about $550 Million, and a bienniel budget is also being reviewed for about $765Million...
Come on, at least they are proficient in condoms, fisting, identification of several genders, weed, drinking, hating the Constitution, and protests.
Does the source have data on ethnicity in each area, and/or, total school-age population versus those in Public Schools? Policy analysts might gain insight therefrom. My guess is that unionized Public Schools have a disparate negative impact on “minority” children (though “minority” children are likely in the vast majority in the failing jurisdictions).
When politics and unions collude to bilk the taxpayers the children get hurt.
I am wondering if like NASA and NOA with climate data, the Dep of Ed program fudged the numbers for prior years.
Why? Their data shows the assessment results back to 1990, and nearly the whole history from the then to now shows improvement; which given the existing poor state of affairs is even more damning - that conditions before were not just low but appalling. That just seems so unlikely to me - how appalling low the results back to 1990 were.
College educated Marxists hellbent on revolution.... imparting their polit6bias as a substitute for public education.
They’ll make good Morlocks.
Guess what’s for dinner...
