Which is why Reuters report that the solar industry has decided to provide more money to Republicans than Democrats this cycle just makes my head want to explode.

1) I'm unclear why an exploding liberal head is a bad thing.
2) Solar has clearly decided to back WINNERS, but...
3) I sure hope this "support" doesn't mean Republicans are going soft on their support for coal miners and other traditional energy sources.
4) I'd love your thoughts on why the solar industry's tree huggers are partnering with Republicans (is it possible they've finally seen the light?).
Solar power isn’t just an interest of ‘tree huggers’. How about prepers?
Solar has huge problems for tree huggers from what I understand. The carbon footprint of producing the materials, particularly for the storage components, as well as the various chemical wastes, etc.
But to anyone looking for the best ways to be off the grid, solar is one possible tool.
Both parties have traditionally been in the pocket of the big utilities, and pass laws that require most people in most places to hook up, or at least pay into, utility infrastructure. But with a recent spotlight on the vulnerability of the power grid and other utilities, I think that’s starting to soften.
Look here
As someone whose been an engineer and contractor in the photovoltaic business for thirty years
Just understand one thing
They work they really work
And there’s no breakdown mechanism for crystalline silicon
The Voayger 1 sent out in 1970 and waaaaay out there past our solar system is still sf ding signals
THATS solar power for ya
Forget all the noise investor garbage and politics
I highly suggest if your electric bill is over 100$ you look at them
Cheers.
Voyager is powered by radioactive thermogenerators, not solar.
“I highly suggest if your electric bill is over 100$ you look at them”
And as someone who had an 8.4 Kw photovoltaic system on my 2400 sq/ft, nearly all electric, home in southern Arizona, I highly suggest that the average consumer stay away from solar. In 2009 the total system cost 62K and in the sunniest spot in the US, that system will only produce about 45K worth of electricity in a 20 year lifecycle. At that time there were plenty of federal, state and local tax incentives and that’s why I did it,....someone else paid for most of it. I was out of pocket about 12K. All that being said, any alternative energy is much more costly than your local electric company.
Solyndra wasn’t enough $ down the rat hole for you?
Well-Funded RINO’s Get Solars Hard-Earned Cash, there fixed it.
APS is crooks
