Problem is this isn’t an official holiday in Mexico, in fact it’s barely recognized as a holiday at all. The main place the 5th of May is celebrated is in the U.S. and it’s basically a gringo creation.

Another excuse to booze it up, like St. Patrick's Day and Mardi Gras.
