We don’t have any Navy ships in the North Atlantic?

Isn’t Spring Break over by now?

Russia ain’t the only threatening nation.
Also this may be tied to training. 2nd Flt did a lot of that.

We have to stop the Russians from invading countries historically recognized international boundaries and building military bases while they expand their military exponentially.

Oh...wait...that would be China.

One of my favorite subjects to engage with the liberal creepozoids is the need, and the positive, peaceful results from a large United States Navy. I explain that we keep the waterways open for EVERYONE to use. All over the world the U S of A empowers countries great and small to travel and ship their goods. Also, whenever there is a natural disaster, who is almost always on the scene first with water and food; US sailors on helicopters from an aircraft carrier. While the diehard liberal creepozoids will not admit the above facts, some of the liberals actually listen and wonder. God Bless our sailors, soldiers, airmen, marines and the Coast Guard; and to blazes with the liberal creepozoids.

Victory Games war game company did great simulations back in the ‘80s covering the 2nd Fleet area of responsibily as well as the Med, Carribbean and South China Sea.

USN planners had big brass ones, they planned to go into the Barents Sea after the Red Banner Northern Fleet if the balloon went up.

That scenario was called “Into the Teeth of the Back Fires” if I recall.

Most of the scenarios we’re pretty tough for NATO and the USN, with heavy losses fighting a second Battle of the Atlantic to keep the sealanes open for the REFORGER convoys.

Yep, I remember that game well. I had both 2nd Fleet and 6th Fleet. I used to have a blast with those games. Wonder what the hell ever happened to my copies. You’re right about the scenarios where NATO had to secure the G-I-UK gap and then foray into the Norwegian and Barents seas....you usually ended up removing a lot of cardboard from the map...

Great game of the 1990s was Harpoon:

GREAT game out today is called "Cold Waters".
