France’s economy minister Bruno Le Maire said Sunday that Air France employees must resume dialogue with bosses and restart efforts to improve the company’s competitiveness, otherwise the airline “will disappear”.

“I appeal to the sense of responsibility of everyone involved: flight crew, ground staff, the pilots asking for unjustified pay increases,” he said on French TV news channel BFMTV. “Take responsibility — Air France’s survival is at stake.”

Le Maire added that “the state is not there to pay off the company’s debts”. …

“These measures [towards socialism] will, of course, be different in different countries.”

— Communist Manifesto, chapter 2

“It is be impossible, of course, to implement all of these measures at once [the ten planks of communism], but one will always bring others in its wake. Once the first radical attack on private property has been launched, the proletariat will find itself forced to go ever further, to concentrate increasingly in the hands of the state all capital, all agriculture, all transport, all trade. All the foregoing measures are directed to this end…”

— The Principles of Communism
Looks like Fabianism is just another branch of Marxism after all.

France...”company’s competitiveness”

Ha, ha, ha!

I was with a company that acquired a smaller French company. French labor law severely restricted what we could do with the French company. So all the firings to make the combined company more competitive happened in the United States. The U.S. company moved it’s IT support to France! You can imagine how well that worked out.

Good luck getting Air France to change. If they go out of business, they will have a huge fleet of A380s to sell. There’s a huge market for them. (snort)

You’d be crazy to book when the employees are angry and don’t want to work.

They just need some outside the box thinking.

How could they increase profits?

Let’s see.

Increase revenue streams......

Sell advertising on the outside of the planes!

“Fly High At Bob’s Pot Palace!”

“Happy Landings From Acme Life Insurance!”

“Snails! The Other White Meat!”

I flew Air France last year, and the flight to Paris was quite nice. Mind you, I was in business class…

Haven't seen that for a while.

That's the first ever EURO-built and touted Airbus on its first computer controlled takeoff.

It did not go well...
