The media’s pro-gun control bias doesn’t just distort news coverage. TV networks have used their primetime entertainment shows to portray gun rights advocates as dishonest, extremist and unconcerned about the loss of innocent lives. At the same time, advocates of gun control are portrayed as caring, upstanding and responsible citizens.
The gun control debate isn’t portrayed as having two sides. It’s a morality play of good versus evil.
NBC might be the worst network, but it’s a tight race. It seems to have given marching orders to its TV writers to churn out scripts demonizing law-abiding gun owners and lionizing those who want to slap strict new controls on gun ownership, even if that means disregarding the Second Amendment to the Constitution.
Recently the NBC show “Taken” (Season 2, Episode 11) tried to convey to viewers that gun-free zones work because the criminals won’t disobey the bans.
Santana (Jessica Camacho) asks Bryan Mills (Clive Standen), if he is “OK with this whole no-guns thing.” Mills replies that it is OK because the gun-free zone means that “bad guys won’t have them either.”
Do people really think that a group of paid, professional killers couldn’t find some way to get guns into a hospital, a school or some other place just because a sign is posted saying guns are not allowed? There’s no mention that over 98 percent of mass public shootings since 1950 have occurred in places where guns are banned. This is precisely because criminals prefer unarmed victims.
About a month ago the NBC show “Chicago Fire” (Season 6, Episode 15) had a scene where stored ammunition catches fire. Bullets fly everywhere, seriously wounding one of the firefighters. The firefighters think that a sniper is targeting them. It is hard to believe that anyone would want to have .....

This is how they get their agendas accepted into mainstream. They paint a picture of anyone who disagrees with them as extremist.

Gee, don’t we really enjoy being characterized as Yosemite Sam or Rambo or Dirty Harry and how that contributes to serious, thoughtful discussion about this topic, eh? You can really tell that these people are on Soros’ or Bloomberg’s payroll to write dreck like this.

Watching old series like Hawaii 50 and Streets of SF, it is interesting to note the degree of anti gun crap one encounters in those shows, sometimes subtle sometimes not so.
They had great guns on TV in the 1950’s and 60’s.
Steve McQueen — “Mare’s Leg” sawed-off Winchester on “Wanted Dead or Alive.”
Yancy Derringer — Derringer pistol in wrist holster (Mattel later adapted to being in belt buckle).
Wyatt Earp — “Buntline Special” long-barreled revolver.
Man From Uncle — Pistol that could be converted into a rifle.
Sgt. Saunders — Thompson submachine gun.
Thanks for the reminder why I now EXCLUSIVELY watch British TV dramas and mysteries via Britbox, Acorn and now Netflix (which has learned to recommend British or London-based shows to me first). Still better than US shows, and the murder mysteries show there are many other ways to get rid of an enemy or relative!
The only episode of Chicago Fire I’ve ever seen was the insipid sniper with burning ammunition one. I was amazed that even TV writers could be so scientifically illiterate.
The comment about getting weapons into closed areas was also interesting.
Just this week, I was at a corporate event at a NFL stadium. It was a trade show with several hundred in attendance. Metal detectors were turned off and there was no ID required to get in.
Any sort of device could have been taken in and hidden somewhere for future use.
Signs and rules are meaningless for someone bent on doing harm. Vigilance and the ability to shoot back works much more frequently.
There was the opposite on an episode of Adam-12. Reid and Malloy were at a school when their tires got slashed. They found out a young boy who was troubled did it. They told him to put his knife away.
The next day, they heard he was seen carrying a handgun. They tracked him down and he had one. Just then, the boys father came on the scene. The boy said he took the gun from home because his parents were fighting and he was worried someone was going to get shot.
The father said that he had some work to do on his marriage and family. Malloy handed him his gun and sent him on his way.
No confiscation, no drama, no SWAT team, no condescending lectures
NBC did a mass shooter episode on “Chicago Med” the other night. Filled with plenty of blood and guts and dead people.

Chaos rips through Med when a mass shooting at a local park floods the ED with victims, and the staff must go into overdrive to control the mayhem, comfort the heartbroken and save as many lives as possible.
Richard Donner is a notorious anti-gun and pro-abort leftie. Anti-gun posters and dialogue and numerous pro-abortion posters.
This has actually been going on for decades and Disney is one of the worst offenders. In Disney, if the character has a firearm, you can be sure he is a bad guy.
This nonsense has been going on since 1963, and got worse after 1968 when Bobby Kennedy was murdered. So many anti-gun, anti-hunting shows came out in the 1970s and 1980s it was hard to keep track.

Tulsa and OKC were extremely dangerous places back when it was illegal to carry a gun, even in your glovebox, and fingerprinting was required to buy a handgun in these two towns. I lived there.
Then there is the gun control capitol of the USA, CHICAGO! Most dangerous place
That does not surprise me (concerning Tulsa and OKC) as those two cities likely have those significant African and Hispanic American populaces and therefore the accompanying violent crime rates within those two ethnicities that would be in turn that good bit higher than that of the white or even the Native American people living there.

Man From UNCLE gun ran into a similar problem because the gun could supposedly fire full auto.

Yet another reason why network television is dying.
I honestly don’t think I’ve watched any of the big 3 networks at home in well over 15 years. And I know an increasing number of people who do not watch any network tv. Even the local news has become a wretched waste of time.
