Poll: Those With No Religion Now Outnumber Protestants Among Millennials
Hot Air ^ | May 14, 2018 | Allahpundit

Nothing rounds out the day like a good “America in decline” poll. I don’t think is evidence of decline per se, of course. I’m not religious myself. But it’s hard not to notice that tribalism, political and otherwise, seems to be expanding as religious identity weakens. And that many of those substitute tribal identities are underwhelming or obnoxious.

YOUNG PEOPLE are immersed in anti-GOD rhetoric in public school K-12, then at night via television, movies, and video games.

People who think that ty hey are God have very difficult times when things don’t go well in their life.

Thus the record high use of andidepressants, antipsychotics and street drugs.

Sorry for typos, between cell phone small buttons and diminishing eyesight, it’s frustrating.

Congratulations liberals in producing a generation of empty vessels and longtime voters.

It’s not just the current snowflakes. This goes back to the boomers and before. I fit the boomer group. I remember my ‘sainted’ grandmother who died in 1955 and went to church each Sunday talking at dinner one night about not believing all the miracles in the Bible. She kept her faith in God and wanted to raise good people in her family.

People raised with personal technology are more comfortable with smartphones and tablets than with other human beings. But technology has no soul and God doesn’t live there.

“But it’s hard not to notice that tribalism, political and otherwise, seems to be expanding as religious identity weakens.”

Funny, I was talking with a client from the middle-west about tax-payer funded stadiums. A studious and thrifty man, he shocked me by stating his full-throated support for the buildings.

His rationale: sport gives the people something to bond around and a place to put their nervous energies...

...after all, better for them to be cheering at the ballpark than drugging in the alley, rioting in the streets, or singing hymns to Swaggertism.

This country is obsessed with sex and perversion. It’s everywhere, tv, commercials, movies, the internet, always in your face. The more deviant, the better and if you don’t accept, celebrate and encourage it, you can be sued and put out of business. Throw in some drugs and alcohol to go with it. Be sure and teach your kids how wonderful, normal and natural homosexual sodomy is, even as it spreads disease far and wide.

If we don’t get back to some morals and decency, this country is over.

People (and pollsters) sometimes confuse belief in God, or Higher Power, spirit of the universe, etc. with subscribing to a definite religion.

People (like me) who are spiritual, but not religious, have found God without someone else’s “spin” (for lack of a better word).

Religion often helps, but is not required for finding God.

Imho.

Peace :)

This is non-news. Young people become more religious when they marry and have children or just get older.

You got it. Back in the 90’s I often heard Christians and conservatives say that we were going to win because we were having more children than the other side. But then Christians and conservatives send their children to government training centers and then allow them to be saturated with popular mass culture.
Giving your children to the enemy for indoctrination is a most curious victory strategy.

Headline is misleading, it makes it sound like Christianity as a whole is declining. Note this sentence from the article:

The rise across the population in non-religious people is basically entirely at the expense of Protestants. Catholics are steady as she goes over 15 years.

(Also note that the percentage of "other Christians" who identify as neither Catholic nor Protestant has actually RISEN from 11% to 14%)

IMO this was a better country when people regularly attended church. Even if most were just going through the motions.
