They're still lying and calling us anti-government. But we are Tea Partiers, and we love government

If you love the United States Constitution, then by definition you love government. That's what the Constitution does. It creates a government.

What we as Tea Partiers do not love is progressivism or any other movement and/or ideology that seeks to pervert the Constitution and build government that will control every aspect of our lives.

Loving government doesn't mean loving big government. We do not love big out of control bloated disrespectful government. But anti-government means anarchy, and Tea Partiers are not anarchists. Anarchists do not love the United States Constitution. This is ground where we cannot under any circumstances find a place to compromise. The Constitution is a hill worth fighting on, it is a hill worth dying on.

See the first ten words of this article. Garbage in, garbage out.

We are Tea Partiers, and we love the United States Constitution. It cannot, therefore, be stated otherwise: We love government.

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: anarchism; biggovernment; conservatism; constitution; progressivism; teaparty
Journalistic malpractice: A decade after the anti-government, anti-tax, and anti-Obama insurgency emerged.

The heart of Conservatism is the United States Constitution.

The stupidest comment that I ever read on Free Republic. I understand the context though be it with a grain of salt. I call it a necessary evil and the only one we got. Limited government has no resemblance to what we have now as we are now the servants. The Constitution gave us God given rights that government has very little regard for. Our rights always supersede government. Americans found out very quickly even under Washington how asinine government will be and that the government interest always comes first.

A better version is we believe in the Constitution, therefore we believe in the consent of the governed and the accountability of the government.

I love LIMITED Government.

Government is Evil, because Power Corrupts. However, Government is necessary, because when we don't have it, things are pretty horrible for most people.

Therefore, Government is a Necessary Evil... and the ONLY thing to do with a Necessary Evil is to corral it as much as possible, and give it as little wiggle room as possible.

THAT'S our Constitution, and THAT'S what I love.

SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil . . . were the impulses of conscience clear, uniform and irresistibly obeyed, man would need no other lawgiver; but that not being the case, he finds it necessary to surrender up a part of his property to furnish means for the protection of the rest; and this he is induced to do by the same prudence which in every other case advises him, out of two evils to choose the least. Wherefore, security being the true design and end of government, it unanswerably follows that whatever form thereof appears most likely to ensure it to us, with the least expense and greatest benefit, is preferable to all others. - Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)

I am anti-criminally weaponized government bent on controlling politics and the people by an elite ruling class.

No doubt that makes me subversive hater in the eyes of a Progressive.

That it does.

But the evil does not understand the light. Almost always, it is incapable of understanding. So it seeks to distort, confuse, and seek advantage through dishonest means as an effort to diminish the light or to recruit.

Their control of media gives them a distinct advantage, however at all times when they engage in their dishonesty it must be pushed back against.

I don’t love government at all.

And establishing the federal government was a fatal mistake to this country.
