A viral video shows a young woman getting pummeled by a cop during a wild scuffle on a New Jersey beach at the start of the Memorial Day weekend.

The 54-second clip captures a chaotic scene of two cops struggling to subdue the woman as a child cries and someone repeatedly shouts,

Weinman said she was questioned and passed a breath-test administered by the cops, then “asked them don’t they have something better to do,” prompting one cop to respond: “I was gonna let you go but now I’ll write you up.”

Videos like this can be deceiving.The Rodney King video that was shown repeatedly by the networks causes one to reach a particular conclusion while the *unedited* video causes one to reach an entirely different conclusion.

Unlike some situations, the young woman in this case *was* clearly resisting arrest.

All this because on a holiday weekend someone was sitting on the beach drinking a beer? How bad could this person have been when the person sitting close by was sleeping, and was only woken up by the cops beating on her in the sand...

I spoke to the family after she was arrested. And they said that all that happened after she passed a breathalyzer test and she didn’t want to give her last name because they didn’t have a reason for it since she passed.

Police officers crazily screaming ”Stop Resisting! Stop Resisting!” is apparently taught on the very first day of academy.
Simply instinctively covering ones head and face counts as “resisting” to contemporary steroided and buzzcut officers.
Maybe start by having officers patrol in shorts, a golf shirt, and engage beachgoers in normal conversation? Tacticool gear isn’t needed everywhere.

Can't imagine at this time anything she could have done to justify him punching her repeatedly in the head, although my guess is she pissed him off with her mouth and lack of respect. But still.

It looks bad for the cops. I support them as much as I can when they are in the right. Did she take a swing at one of the officers? Did she issue any verbal threats? I read that she made a semi-sarcastic statement in the form of a question. Okay. All I can say is if the first part of the incident is missing, the police better hope it somehow justifies this beatdown on the beach I saw.

She may have been resisting or squirming around because she was a little drunk, and just trying to escape from their grasp. This was upsetting for all the beachgoers who saw it.
How can it possibly be justified? That ‘missing film’ better be a real doozy!
