I bet the trucker was texting. I’ve seen tractors pulling doubles weaving across two lanes of interstate traffic. When I finally got beside him he had his phone in hand texting or watching something. He had been swerving for over 10 miles before I got beside, then past him.
Fed Ex double.....

Unusual because double triples I have seen are more stable in lanes.

The Department of Un-Safety will next require driver facing cameras to prevent texting, monitored by authorities. The consequence of this will be more fatigued driving, because science says what you observe changes its behavior.

The higher fatigue and drowsiness will cause more accidents and kill more children. The State Safety authorities will just ignore the child deaths because they grabbed more control.

The Administrative State moves forward creating chaos out of nothing. Unelected, regulating, destroying.

Trucking is a dire industry, that is hyper regulated causing poor pay and poor working conditions. Back in the Liberty days, trucking was successful.

Yes the Big State shall progress their mess into mega mess.

And that my FReinds, is the Rant-Of-The-Day, thank you.

As a FedEx truck driver I'm saying next time that happens get his truck number and call the company. If they can prove it, it's automatic termination. Even if they can't prove it, your complaint will be followed-up on and will put the fear of God into him/her.

FedEx is pretty lenient with it's drivers but using electronic gear, even hands-free, while driving is automatic termination.

That said, as a truck driver, I'd say easy 95% of the people I see in cars in the passenger seat have a phone while well over 50% of the drivers are texting or reading their phone. I've come across numerous accidents where in daylight, dry conditions where the driver has just gone straight off the road instead of making a curve. The reason is obvious.

Of course it affects ME as their screw-up by not paying attention results in backups.
