NC Teachers' March: #ItsPolitical
Resolute Free Press ^ | June 5, 2018 | Resolute Free Press

North Carolina teachers marched to the state capitol last month, demanding, among other things, teacher pay raises and increased education spending.

But was it really about NC teachers or was it just a nationally coordinated effort by the Left to target red states?

Soros and Rev. Barber will ramp up the "occupy like" efforts in North Carolina again. Stay Tuned.

Leftist hypocrisy knows no bounds but it is aided greatly by the teacher sheep who never stop seeking validation and patting themselves on the back if they don’t get it.

The grim irony is that these teachers would all tick the box marked ‘I am an independent thinker’ and probably fancy themselves acolytes of independent/critical thinking in the classroom - while proving they are nothing more than a mob outside it.

I will never understand how conservative teachers continue to allow the unions to swindle them out of hard earned $$

This is less about salaries than pensions and health bennies.

Teachers and their unions are prepared to bankrupt states and state taxpayers, and will hold publik skrewl students hostage to get what they want.

Yep. Was talking to WBill Jr. about that the other day. Told him to remember that every Union Shill that they interviewed on TV was making well north of 6 figures, and every nickel came directly out of the teacher's pay.

And, them continuing to make all that money was directly related to the amount of trouble they could stir up.

What serious person is going to let their views on important issues be changed by a bunch of leftists marching for this and that liberal cause?

These marches accomplish nothing other than giving the leftist news media something to report and causing conservatives to turn out at the polls in greater numbers.

We have little to no choice.

Conservative teachers are persona non grata in public education.

I would like to present the idea that society will never be able to afford these lifelong professional teachers. Research has shown that teachers usually become proficient in their teaching after 3 years. Maybe teachers should move on to different, higher paying professions after 6-10 years instead of sucking up money from the taxpayers for lifelong careers and pensions that are almost what they made in their last 2-3 highest paying salaries. Teach for America teachers often get hired by major corporations after their teaching stint. Perhaps municipalities should not be forced to pay for this. I don’t hold the sacred view of teachers that many people do, because I homeschooled my children and know that education is accomplished in many ways. My children have graduate degrees and are highly employed.

I beg to differ.... I know many teachers who have placed children in the classroom above themselves. Unfortunately the best teachers who understand their students leave the profession because they are forced to jump through too many political hoops. Not all teachers crave $$ - they mostly want support for resources. But a raise in pay is helpful.
