Reports: 2 Eagles planned to attend White House visit;

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eagles players and officials made individual decisions to not go to the White House for a scheduled celebration of their Super Bowl title, leaving two players actually planning to make the trip to Washington before the visit was canceled by President Donald Trump, according to players and a person familiar with the arrangements.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because of the sensitivity of the issues.

All-Pro center Jason Kelce said players filled out forms anonymously indicating whether they wanted to go to the White House, not make the trip or go to Washington and do something else.

"It's a little bit disappointing as a country right now that we're so divided, I think that's the bigger disappointment," said Kelce, who became a folk hero in Philadelphia for an impassioned, profane rally speech he gave after a day of antics during the city's Super Bowl parade.

The players did not urge a collective decision on what to do as a team, giving each player his own option of whether to take the trip.

I believe there are only three eagles left, since Glen died.

Four if you count Timothy B. Schmitt, the bass player since 78’ or so.

giving each player his own option of whether to take the trip...

That's the problem in a nutshell.

On team time, the team should do the team thing.

If the team decides to kneel and/or not go to the WH, let them suffer the consequences (hopefully going out of biz).

On team time, like during the Anthem, they need to follow the dictates of their contract - which should be standing up with respect facing the flag.

Make it official. No more professional sports teams visit the White House. Pop the bubble of the cult of professional sports.

25 years ago when sports weren’t political and could unite the country, it made sense. Not now. It simply supports stupid players and crony-capitalist owners and its not up to the President to try and judge who the good ones are, and who the agitators are.

Seems pretty straightforward, eh?

If my right to freedom of speech impacts my company, I have no right to do it on their time. Cut and dried.

Pathetic. The NFL has been wholly lost to SJW agenda. I was done with this league when Kap knuck started it and didn’t watch last year. I feel clean.

We have an “anonymous” survey at my work. No one fills it out honestly out of concern of retribution. I guarantee more than 2 wanted to go. Between being ostracized and douche bag Lurie I bet the same thing occurred here.

That said, my lifetime ban continues.

Those Eagles need landing pads too. A long haul from Alpha.

Sounds like Kelcie wanted to go. Him, Went and Files are my favorites. The Defense did nothing during the Super BOWL. Files put the team completely on his back with Kelcies help.

Trump should invite 50+ LEO FROM PHILLY instead they had a tough job after the Super Bowl and could use a Trump PEP talk.

Excerpt:

The personal is political” was a frequently heard feminist rallying cry, especially during the late 1960s and 1970s.

Carol Hanisch does not use the phrase “the personal is political” in the essay, but writes:

One of the first things we discover in these groups is that personal problems are political problems. There are no personal solutions at this time. There is only collective action for a collective solution.
