“Bay City Rollers legend”
Ok, let’s not get carried away here.
Isn’t he right up there with Mick and Keith?............
Addressing him as a “legend” is a bit of a stretch.
The Bay City Rollers were a one-hit-wonder of dubious talent.
I wish him a speedy recovery just the same.
Yeah, that one caught me off guard.
I grew up in Bay City, Mi.
Went to City Hall to see the group receive the key to the city when I was like 13.
On the way back to the west side my friend’s sister was driving and we pulled up next to their limo not knowing or caring who it was.
They rolled down the back window, smiled and waved before the cop escort slowed in front of us pushing us back.
Most embarrassing moment ever. I was in my first rock band at 13 and all that mattered to me then was Rush and Yes.
S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. Night! (head shake)
I can remember folks saying that this group was going to be bigger than the Beatles...Yeahhhhhh Righttttt....
The best Rollers song was Rollers Show by Nick Lowe as a sort of tongue in cheek tribute to them to his punk/new wave audience.
