A sleepy driver slammed into a toll plaza in Central Florida earlier this month sending a passenger flying into the air in a moment captured on surveillance video.
The Florida Highway Patrol released video of the fiery crash in Osceola County on Monday, which took place around 7:15 a.m. on June 3 near St. Cloud, located south of Orlando.
The speeding car is seen in video striking a barrier in front of a toll lane, sending a man flying out of the vehicle.
The man lands in another toll lane near where a car was paying a toll.
State troopers told FOX13 they believe the driver, Steven Dos Santos, 23, was asleep or fatigued at the time of the crash. There were five people in the car at the time of the crash, according to police.

Dont see anyone rushing to help...but then they are government employees
Wow they are all very lucky, in my opinion.
If that guy had planned that, there was not other way he could have done that without hurting or killing several people.
It could have been a LOT worse.
Reason to wear seat belt?
I would imagine those concrete barriers have saved hundreds of lives.
I suspect a seat belt in this case would have killed him. He free-flew out the front windshield lowering the otherwise high-g sudden stop. Of course, predicting beforehand which effect is more deadly is impossible.
that’s a Goodies headache
Mechanism of injury.
hmmmm ya might want to think that through a little. There is a little "give" in a seat belt and the airbags work on the deceleration. That is unless you put your feet on the dash, unbuckle and decide to let the ground outside....like say concrete.. that doesn't budge a inch stop you. hahahahahahahaa...... That guy BOUNCED after he hit the ground while flying through the air with the greatest of ease.
We should ban toll booths.
It probably saved the life of the toll booth worker.
Sorry about your friend, uh, buck 25, please.
How about the guy at 24 seconds walking away from the crash.
Really looks like a lot of “Duhhh, what do we do” going on.
What saved the other 4 people in the car?
You see the problems toll booths cause? They ought to be banned! ;-)
A seat belt is probably best in 99 out of 100 cases. Years ago, one of my female cousins drove into a construction area and hit a trench. She flew out the front windshield and onto the pavement. When I was told that, I immediately thought she was dead or injured, but she was neither. Just a few scratches. You can never tell.
I wonder how the heck the ejected passenger survived THAT. Or didnt wind up a vegetable on life support.
