Two New Orleans area men, including a National Rifle Association instructor, are accused of scheming to forge documents as part of applications for concealed handgun permits, according to Louisiana State Police.
Annis Broussard, 54, of Slidell was booked Thursday (June 14) with conspiracy to commit forgery. Broussard was serving as an NRA Certified Instructor, but the state has revoked that certification, a state police spokeswoman said.
According to state police, Broussard plotted with Derrick Jones, 47, of Waggaman, who was booked Thursday with 27 counts of forgery and conspiracy to commit forgery.
An investigation into the permit applications kicked off last December, after the Louisiana State Police Concealed Handgun Permit Section found several applications contained forged documents.
Detectives with the state police Bureau of Investigations found that Broussard and Jones were scamming applicants into paying $200 to $300 to "expedite their application process," Trooper Melissa Matey, spokeswoman for Troop B, said in a news release.

I don’t recall seeing fees and permits listed anywhere in the Bill of Rights.
Exactly. We are already living in a state of tyranny when the Constitution is ignored by our "legal" overlords. That state of tyranny is not some abstract point in the future that preppers worry about. We have already arrived.
..the right of the People to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED....
Constitutional issues aside, as an NRA Senior Training Counselor, I’ve seen all too many “Instructors” ignore the Association’s fine training materials after certification.
Sorry, but an “Uncle Billy’s Two Hour [BS-filled] Shootin’ and Killin’ Course” with a 5 page Xeroxed handout is NOT training, and neither is this “Expedited” route.
Screw them - let ‘em hang.
Constitutional issues aside
So you are saying, screw the Constitution.
THESE RIGHTS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
>> So you are saying, screw the Constitution.
I said nothing of the sort. Separate issues.

Umm, since when does a state have the right to "revoke" a certification issued by a private party?
Not sorry, I do not do facebook.
JUST AS I SUSPECTED. Thanks. We all want a look-see.
As a former CCW instructor, it sounds as if the privilege to serve as certified instructor FOR THE STATE CCW PROCESS had been revoked.
Seen it happen in MO as well.
If the NRA Instructor lost his privilege to participate in the LA state process, and he continued, he is in trouble.
I might not put it in those terms, but I worked long and hard for my certs, value what they mean and have to do all of it in a toxic, 2A-unfriendly state. If they wereexpediting applications in any way, then they were operating rogue. If they were forging signatures, then theres no excuse - they violated law.
Constitutional issues not withstanding, if we dont self-police the program, it will become the next bogie-man for the left, soon after disappearing altogether. That will be a sad day.
