A BRAZILIAN football fan has died after slicing open her THROAT when she fell on her wine glass while celebrating her team's victory against Serbia.
Tamra Maiochi suffered the freak accident just as the referee blew the whistle after the game on Wednesday, which sent Neymar and his teammates through to the knock-out stages of the World Cup in Russia.

The 30-year-old had been watching the crucial match with friends at a house in Itatiba, in Brazil’s southeastern state of Sao Paulo.
According to police, Ms Maiochi had been sitting down on a sofa holding her mobile phone in one hand and sipping wine from a crystal glass in the other.
As she stood up with the rest of the group up to celebrate Brazil’s win at the end of the game, she lost her balance, reaching out to a coffee table to stop herself from falling.
But she slipped and fell onto the wine glass, which shattered into pieces which penetrated her neck, severing her jugular vein.
Friends tried to stop the blood wrapping towels around her neck but by the time emergency services arrived at the house she was dead.
Ms Maiochi, who was single, posted a photo on her Facebook page on May 31 of herself holding a glass of wine.
And in her last written post she had shared a video warning about the risks of using a mobile phone while driving, writing: “We never imagine that something like this can happen to us. But accidents do happen.

Horrible.
But raises the necessary question: Who else was there when it happened?

She was surrounded by others.............
When you sever the jugular vein, there’s not much you can do.

And it is immediate..................
and real messy.
Tragic.
The people who witnessed it are going to be scarred for life seeing that happen to a friend.

It’s Brazil. My question goes in this direction: how much wine had she consumed, and, how high were the stiletto heels she was wearing? She had probably been drinking throughout the match, and, being a Latin female, the heels were at least six inches.
Nonetheless, a tragic accident.
