You get some other protein sources, like eggs or egg whites, right?

Those sound tasty and they are complex carbohydrates, but I hope you can mix it up a bit.

I’ve mixed cans of lentil soup (don’t know if I have any left) with canned diced potatoes.

Throw in some cheap crackers or oyster crackers. Cheap oyster crackers are 88 cents or so at WM.

Pretty good stuff.

Wal*Mart rice, not the best but fairly cheap, is about $8.92 for 20lbs in my area. BUT you have to use 2 cups of water per cup of rice. Not 1:1 like Uncle Ben’s instant.

Best of luck to you. Basically I shop every loss-leader at the grocery store. There are 6 operated by different families but they all have pretty much the same weekly specials.
