A Florida woman who was summoned for jury duty was busted after allegedly bringing drugs with her while she fulfilled her civic duty, authorities said.

Kristine Victoria Mittler, 39, went to the West Pasco Judicial Center to report for jury duty Monday but was arrested after drugs were found on her person, the Bradenton Herald reported.

Should have let her keep it.

Usually the jury looks like they’ve been sipping Nyquil.

“Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said Mittler set off an alarm while going through the security screening at the courthouse entrance.”

SO what did she have that set off the alarm? Had to be something metal. Reporters just don’t know how to report very well these days.

Could a chemical sniffer have caught traces of flammables used to produce the drug in clandestine labs.

I never make the final round for the jury. In the questioning it turns out I "know too much" about something or other and one or both sides take me out on their early throw-outs.

It seems to me the lawyers want ignorant people they can sway, but that's probably not the case every time. I've been through it about 5 times.

The story I read yesterday, said she had cocaine in aluminum foil.

One time I showed up for jury duty. I got almost to the doors before remembering about the metal detectors.

“... was arrested after drugs were found on her person ... “

At which time she asked, “Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?”

If you want to talk about stupid in Florida listen to this.

Several years after we moved to another state, transferred the titles to our cars, cancelled our insurance in Florida, got rid of our Florida driver’s licenses, sold our home in Florida.

Polk County mailed a jury summons to my wife. No it wasn’t mailed to our old Florida address and forwarded. It was mailed directly from Polk County to our address in Kentucky.

Me too. I had to unload several items into a planter near the Court House. They were still there at the end of the day.
