Good to know. As a life long California resident, I hoping to get out and Idaho was on my list of potential new homes.
We moved to Emmett (25 miles from Boise) two years ago. Crime is low. We had one incident where a couple of neighbor’s cars were broken into. Probably a criminal just passing through. Otherwise, folks aren’t concerned about it.
We’re very happy we made the move here...from Oregon!
Wasn’t always that way.
Spend some time in my crime infested neck of the woods and rethink that.
Before we all got alarm systems in our homes every house on our street had been broken into.
I used to lay awake playing “What’s That Noise?” for months after they hit our house.
They pried a small gun safe open.
I was afraid they would come back and make us open the big one.

Latest California poll has Newsome up 68% to Cox’s 21%. So it’s easy to group all Californians into the socials nut case catagory. I say this as a life long Southern Californian. This is a true shithole state.

We saw someone open carrying when we were out and about.
The tolerance of gun culture probably contributes significantly to the low crime rate.

I’ve been there and really love the country around Bridgeport.
But even so you still have the same government officials calling the shots statewide.
We’re getting out of this crazy state soon, hopefully.

Yeah I agree our state government sucks big time, completely voted in and controlled by the big cities on the coast. Our county went for Trump.

The first night in Idaho we were in Nampa and drove through Kuna.

I was talking to someone who told me they were planning to visit California.
I was thinking “Why on earth would you leave this place and go to California unless you’re visiting relatives or something?”
To be fair, it was about that rodent in Anaheim, but still...
I was mentioning how beautiful it is in Idaho and he just yawned.

Seems like living there would never get old unless it’s a relly bad winter or you live in a cricket zone.

If you can wake up and get your stuff quick enough.
I was up all night with my revolver in my hand the night it happened.
The kids were little then and very scared and everyone had gathered in the master suite for the night.
I never want to have to shoot anyone.
Where we live our house would probably get burnt down by protesters.
We would probably be thrown in jail for daring to defend ourselves.
We live in an area where people are beaten senseless for supporting Donald Trump.
So yes, maybe I am bit paranoid but not without cause.
