Ultimately it will be Asian (primarily Chinese and Indian) as well as most Hispanic immigrants and their children who will come to realize that their prime interest is to preserve and develop the America that attracted them to uproot from their homelands and settle here. Why would they want to recreate the same social and economic systems that they fled often in poverty. Hence it is my belief that in each upcoming election an ever increasing percentage of these folks will identify themselves as Republicans. It is not surprising ( except perhaps to the Democrats) that recent polls show these newcomers do not support open borders or free migrations.

I tutor in one of these after-school tutoring services and half of the students are the children of immigrants from India. We also teach some Korean children. Their families are very strong and traditional and they place a really big emphasis on education. That’s why you get the Indian kids winning spelling bees and going into fields like medicine. They’re very conservative except for how they sometimes vote. I hope you’re right about the Chinese and Indian families.

I’m less certain about the Hispanics because I don’t see the same emphasis on education. Also, they have a high rate of illegitimacy. Government benefits look very attractive to a single mother.

I think Asian Americans were fooled by the media into thinking Donald Trump was racist.

Just because Trump criticized China and Japan for beating us up on trade doesn’t mean Trump is racist.

My wife gets the Japanese TV station, and in the news stories, the NHK anchors and Japanese correspondents in Washington parrot the talking points of the Fake News.

And one big reason for this, I believe, is the foreign correpondents feel the need to buddy/buddy with the American press people they meet in Washington. A Trump-supporting reporter would be run out of town, I suspect.

So the remedy is a slow/steady process of turning the country around and as Andrew Breitbart said, “Politics is downstream from Culture” (and the Press, the Universities, the Entertainment Industry).
