My Proposal for dealing with Abortion Issue.

My Proposal to deal with Abortion and take it off the table politically:

Given that we may likely see Roe vs. Wade overturned when RBG leaves the court how can we take this issue off the table?

The republicans in congress and the president should write a constitutional amendment with the following wording:

Abortion shall be legal up to 13 weeks after conception. All other laws dealing with abortion shall be left to the individual states

It gets put to the states and they have 7 years for 36 states to agree. If after 7 years 36 states do not pass this then abortion is dead. At that point the people have decided if abortion is a constitutional right. If the democrats don't like the 13 week restriction , then let them alter the time frame, at which point it becomes less likely to pass. The court is now conservative and we take off the table that the court is stripping our constitutional rights. The dems are gonna hate it because it may pass at 13 weeks and they will hate that and they know if they push it to 30 weeks it will not pass.

Life begins at conception.

Nothing special happens at midnight on the 13th week that makes the previous weeks “not alive”.

Takes 2/3rd vote of House and Senate to pass a Constitutional Amendment, so your plan won’t work.

More likely to work via Article V Convention.

"Abortion shall be legal up to 13 weeks after conception."

Abortion is either the death of a human being, or it is not.
Contrary to Global Warming alarmists, science is not dictated by polls.

Science says it is a live human being. From the moment the egg is fertilized (conception).
(Heartbeat at 14 days)
Why would it be OK to kill a baby at 84 days and not at 83 days?

No way. We should face up to the fact that Roe v. Wade was based on faulty reasoning and should reversed and return this issue to the states where it truly belongs. It is time to start honoring the Tenth Amendment.

I find it interesting if the Mars rover finds a clump of cells thriving on Mars it would be headlines of “Life On Mars,” but do not consider a clump of cells going into a person inside a woman as “Life”

Respect the life growing inside even if it is inconvenient

An option that does not fail is for everyone to acknowledge that a conceived child is just that--a child and it cannot be killed without violating one of God's Commandments--"Thou shalt not kill". I blame liberal churches for telling their gullible parishioners that it's OK to kill their unborn child.

How many Feepers also attend one of these liberal "churches" and unwittingly help promote the killing of unborn children? Make abortion unthinkable.

I still believe it should NEVER have been a Federal issue, to begin with.
Far too much non-Constitutional authority has been taken by the Feds. That’s why we have the mess we have, today, in large measure (along with the insanity that is Progressivism).

Roe v Wade has become a rallying cry for the left and right. And, it should be neither.

At it’s core, this issue of abortion ‘rights’ is a State issue, not Federal, and the individual States MUST re-exert their Constitutional authority to keep it so.

Abortion shall be legal

Stopped reading right there...why do you insist on legalizing infanticide?

The Republicans agreed to go along with this wording and deliberately kick it to the states. That’s how they get the two thirds. If it doesn’t pass it’s on the Democrats at which point nobody can point the finger at the Republicans anymore

If Roe versus Wade is overturned it will still be a States issue as to whether or not abortion takes place. Abortion will not cease to exist if the Supreme Court overturns this

Didja hear the new joke?

How many people does it take to put on a condom?

Oh, yeah...right. It’s a woman’s body and we shouldn’t be telling her what to do. So rather than an effect of stupidity this is a rationale to cover for a poor choice.

Let’s keep teaching children that sex and Planned Parenthood go hand-in-hand (pun intended). It’s working so far, right?

I respectfully disagree with the politics. This is a culture now spanning multiple generations rationalizing poor choices and the killing of babies. I don’t proffer a solution, but it is clear that those on the abortion side see any compromise as a return to “back-alley abortions” and they rationalize everything along that line.

However, you ARE right that this is a states’ rights matter and that is key. Remove the propaganda (that should be obvious) and the hypocrisy of a national policy on abortion...it will resolve of its own accord and will, as you assert, remove politics from the debate, relegated to the individual states.

Roe vs. Wade is unconstitutional, but neither do I believe that abortion should be criminalized.

The overarching problem here is that, collectively, we made it “easy” and rationalized immoral actions coupled with poor choices and abject stupidity.

Yeah, good reasons to kill a baby. /s

This puts it to the states. 50 states will be forced to engage in arguments about abortion. If 36 States agree that abortion can take place at 13 weeks then so be it. I think it would fail. At which point it is settled that abortion belongs to the states forevermore and it is no longer a talking point for the Democrats

Murdering innocent little preborn babies should not be enshrined in the Constitution for any number of days / weeks / months between conception and birth.

The life of each baby begins at their conception.

It is at their conception that they first have a father, and a mother, and are part of a family as a daughter or as a son.

The Court deemed abortion a fundamental right under the United States Constitution, thereby subjecting all laws attempting to restrict it to the standard of strict scrutiny.

Justice Blackmun’s majority opinion explicitly rejected a fetal “right to life” argument. The Court instead recognized the right to an abortion as a fundamental right included within the guarantee of personal privacy.

Justice Blackmun admitted years later the Court fabricated a ‘right’ to murder defenseless babies!

Roe v Wade has been in effect for 45 years. In all that time the decision has stood up and not seriously challenged. An attorney interviewed on a local TV channel pointed out that you would need an almost perfect case to go through the Federal Court System and then try to get on the Supreme Court docket. It would take years and millions of dollars for that case. But the Dems use Roe as a scare tactic and fundraiser.
