I like soccer. But this flopping business has gotten really lame. You seem to see it more in the international game than you do here during MLS games.

I don’t know what the solution is. Maybe one is that a player who rolls around on the ground likes he was bayoneted and then gets up and is walking normally needs to be forced into subbing out for a new player. Being that both teams are limited to only a few substitutions in a game, this might help reduce the theatrics. A yellow card is another option, I guess.

Is this a possible solution...?

Next time Neymar flops, do a Hulk Hogan elbow drop on his head.

Ooops, I slipped ref.

If he is going to flop, then make him really hurt. A few elbows to the face, or a well placed knee, to make him and other floppers feel real pain would be worth the yellow card. If a flopper is going down, then get your money’s worth when sending him down.

I think that you people simply don’t appreciate the conditioning and self sacrifice that a soccer player commits to in his career.

If you saw an NFL, NBA, NHL player go down like that, writhing in pain, this would indicate a season ending, possibly career ending injury.

These high level soccer stars endure multiple career ending injuries.... each GAME! And still they persevere through the pain and then heal, with preternatural swiftness.

It is miraculous, actually.
