The weekend of the first week of May, 2016 Anthony Kennedy told his wife Mary he wanted to go see his old friend Joe Smith in Baltimore, Maryland. Kennedy, who hated using a driver, or Secret Service guards, was determined to drive himself. Mary was concerned--but knew he'd do what he wanted no matter what she said.
"OK, honey, don't forget your cell phone, so you can call me in case of emergency," Mary told him. The aged Supreme Court Justice dutifully put his cell phone in his pocket.
The day went well, with the journey up I-95 uneventful. After a few hours of croquet with his old friend, Smith, Anthony decided it was time to go home.
As he slowly entered the highway, Kennedy sensed something must be wrong.... Then Mary called him on the phone, "Anthony, you must watch out! I just saw on the news that there's a WRONG-WAY DRIVER on I-95 in Baltimore!"
Anthony shouted his reply, "I KNOW HONEY! THERE'S HUNDREDS OF THEM!!!"

After that day, it was decided he MUST retire....

They almost took out Katie Arrington (who days earlier defeated Mark Sanford in SC) with a ‘wrong way driver’. Kennedy had every right to be concerned.
Wrong-way driving is so common on the Autobahn in Germany, they have a word for it, “Geisterfahrer” (literally, “Ghost-Driver.”)
One of my best laughs ever when they passed thru the two 18 wheelers.

I had a friend who drove the wrong way on a highway, and he told me how pissed he got: “All these a-holes were blinding me by flashing their lights at me!”
